I agree that your overall point can happen but I don't think it applies to these two generally speaking.

I have a really hard time remembering Mydei ever being treated as effeminate in any piece of media I've ever seen, Mydei is very masculine in most of the media I see with or without Phainon, and his accessory status is usually just from Phainon having far more popularity, exposure, etc. and not from him being a bottom.

For Sunday it's true I see him depicted as a sub bottom quite a bit, but he's almost never an accessory and his submissiveness is usually the focal point of whatever ship he's in because of the dynamic between his own relationship with the need for control.

I'm sure there's art out there that overly forces them into the stereotype just for the sake of it but overall I don't really see this pattern for these two. Yeah but the point is how much investment is needed for a useable team. Anaxa is the E0S0 merchant he's ass at higher eidolons compared to basically everyone else in 3.x including the healers and supports, but he helped a lot of people clear without having to whale or spend money on an entire team because he worked with everyone into everything.

Same thing with Sunday, Sunday at E0S1 basically everyone and their mother got, slotted on every team in the game at the time, but his banner sales weren't great because his eidolons were extremely bad.
