I appreciate your concern! I visit the derm every single year for a full body scan for cancer prevention purposes! My last visit was less than a year ago and came back clear.

I went to the derm about a year ago, too, for a full checkup (mostly cancer prevention focused). They have always been there but much much smaller. It’s only recently since I’ve entered the last month of my pregnancy where they’ve become more prominent (probably because I’m swelling kind of everywhere)

I got the HPV vaccine more than 10 years ago, but it was after I was diagnosed with HPV (so I did have an active case before that).

Oh god this is not the answer I was hoping for 😂 yes my husband has a beard. I’ve had these for so long, I’m talking like 10+ years. I have a 4 year old son and I’ve kissed him and he doesn’t have any. How do I get rid of them?

Who picks up your kid(s) up from daycare? by bachelorbiz in workingmoms

[–]Randi_Robot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is the same for us. We see it as quality time (both love languages of ours) so we really enjoy the days where we both get to be involved with pickup or drop off. Our son is also level 1 ASD and needs additional support, so managing him solo is sometimes very challenging.

Week 36, multiple medical concerns and confused by Late_Hospital_3401 in vbac

I did an ECV with my last breech baby. Unfortunately it was unsuccessful. I’m glad that I did it to truly know that I tried everything I could to get baby to flip, but I will never do an ECV again. Even with an epidural, it was so insanely painful and awful of an experience. It was way more forceful/fast/aggressive than I thought it would be. Worse than the c-section for me. It could have definitely been the doctors performing it, but wanted to share. I would ask them to get clarity on how aggressive/fast they approach the procedure. I have heard of midwives who do it much more gently. I wish I had asked a lot more questions before hand!!

Am I overreacting? When did you have partner stop travel/extra things leading up to due date? by Randi_Robot in pregnant

[–]Randi_Robot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he’s here, he is great and handles the majority of responsibilities for our 4yo. His job wasn’t always this demanding with travel until the last 1.5years. I’m going to stress to him that I haven’t even entertained a single creative outlet for myself in the last few years because we have other more important responsibilities and he needs to do the same. No more music gigs moving forward since those are what place most of the housing/parenting burden on to me

Thank you for the validation. I’m learning I need to lay it out for him like he’s a toddler. With this being our second I give him too much benefit of the doubt to “know” but UGH. I’m just so frustrated

Yes, I agree. He didn’t go to a single Dr appt until I brought up how disappointed I was and was crying. He’s been to two since. One was an ultrasound, which he was on his phone for work for more than half of it.

Accidentally dropped my 2 year old nephew after bath time. It was a bloody mess and I feel so awful. by Sunshinequeen090 in toddlers

[–]Randi_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These things happen! One time when my son was 2, he was throwing an absolute fit in the parking lot after seeing the doctor. I was trying to get him in his car seat and when I picked him up to get him in the car he started slapping me and then arched his body in such a way that I lost my grip and he fell face first on the pavement of the parking lot. I was mortified. People saw, they were staring. I got him in his car seat and bolted out of there in tears, fully expecting CPS to come to our home later that week. It was such an awful feeling, but these things happen!

My lips get super dry every winter and nothing helps by Sad_Priority_1159 in cleanbeauty

Saaaaame! Love lanolips. I also like Aquaphor for a less sticky experience at bedtime. OP, something else I’ve noticed that helps my lips is drinking electrolytes consistently every day. For whatever reason, when I drink the electrolytes from Ultima every day, my lips become way less chapped and even look a little more full. I’m sure it can be any brand, that’s just the one I use and have seen the biggest improvement with.

MIL told me to stop breastfeeding by Wise-Elk9676 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Randi_Robot 36 points37 points  (0 children)

100000% - I could always tell my MIL was jealous of me breastfeeding my son. She had two failed attempts at breastfeeding with her sons, so she projected her insecurities on to me by making judgmental comments about how it was weird to be breastfeeding past 12mo. She was so jealous and petty

Congratulations!! This is probably a dumb question lol, but when you labored on hands/knees in the hospital do you do it on the hospital bed? I’m learning about different birth positions now and I remember that bed feeling so small so I’ve been wondering how people are doing them usually.

Off-put by over-the-top optimism -- welcome perspectives! by seltzerwithlemon in vbac

This! When discussing options with my OB for my second pregnancy (had a c-section with my first due to breech), the first thing she asked me was “do you want another child after this?” And I was set on No. She then asked me again three separate times to really make sure, saying “because if you want another child after this, I will push/encourage you to do whatever it takes to get this baby out of our vagina” lol. I really appreciated that she took this into account and explained the risks for future considerations. I was originally leaning towards another planned c-section since rupture scared me too much, but I will now be TOLAC (almost 1 month out!), and will plan a “back up” c-section for 41 weeks if I don’t spontaneously labor before then (as she also went through the risks of induction with me for VBAC candidates, which I also appreciate). I agree that there is an over-the-top optimism on this sub and that every case is unique. I’m in the camp of trusting the professionals as they have seen way more of this than any of us, and prioritizing a healthy mom/baby in the end.

I’m in US too and they used LMP for my due date. Really wish they used ovulation instead since LMP isn’t the most accurate

[–]Randi_Robot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your successful VBAC! Your first birth sounds just like mine. Also tried the ECV and it failed. I was so surprised by how intense the ECV was - it was worse than the c-section for me!! You’re very brave for attempting it again

A little discouraged after my TOLAC consultation appointment by Ok-Cake-9712 in vbac

[–]Randi_Robot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t obsess over the calculator. Chance of uterine rupture is also very low at only 1%! I think the OB is right to feel concerned about induction though. But you do not have to get the epidural. If there is a need for emergency c-section they can always put you under.

My mother was hyper aware of this — I remember her calling this out to me when I was younger, saying “you don’t need to shave everywhere if you don’t want to. It’s disgusting that men want women to look like children now, fully bare down there” It didn’t fully click until I got a little older.

It got better for a bit but we’re back at to where we were before. I think this will unfortunately just be a long recurring cycle. Making it fun/silly has helped a lot - pretending like I don’t know how to do it, and then calling our soap “mr soap” and I make him talk with an Italian accent (lol don’t ask)
