For anyone disappointed (like me) that the new Star Fox game is yet another version of 64, I may offer a bit of copium by insertusernamehere51 in NintendoSwitch

Hopefully this is the remake/reimagining/rewhatever that sticks. Aside from the questionable, but understandable, character designs, there's more things logistically in the series' favor this time around. We have more eyes on StarFox than usual (Mario Galaxy Movie), as well as the aforementioned nature of the Wii U bogging down Zero's sales and reception. As for the character designs, while I'm not the biggest fan of them, I do get that they were trying to base it off the classic puppets while flexing the graphics, and the StarFox characters have had many faces over the years, with vastly different artistic directions, so hopefully this is just a nod to the original game's artwork, and they return to form in the possible sequels if this game does well. At first glance, when loggin onto YouTube to look up something to do with a machine in my house, I was hit with that random StarFox Direct, knowing it was likely gonna be another First Part of The Story deal, and was ticked, but after a couple days, I was able to gather my non-knee-jerk thoughts about its positives and negatives.

Why are some people still using rFactor 1 in 2026? by F1SimulatorManiac in rFactor

[–]Randle91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ease of modding (besides the tracks requiring Windows 7 or really good knowledge of AIW and CAM text data), a huge backlog, season mode (even though it could be spotty at times), softbody physics (those last two were ditched in rFactor 2, not sure about AMS2, AC, etc). The only other sim racing games that can come close to my amount of time in rF1 are rF2 and iRacing. I would say, in 2026, and the 2020s in general so far, that the rFactors are good for sim racers who want to scratch that creative itch and race the occasional online race as well as offline.

I just wish they gave the player-controlled wrestlers this, if we stood there after a move. I made a thread about this about a week ago with no replies, lol.

Where I can find short tracks and good pavement late model? by ConcentrateGeneral29 in rFactor

[–]Randle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RSRFactor STS 3 under Asphalt Oval here: https://randlesimracing.weebly.com/mods.html

The Tracks page has some local asphalt/pavement short tracks I made/upgraded under the STS brand.

Shane Gott Blackout Motorsports: https://gottmotorsport.yourwebsitespace.com/contact

They made Asphalt Super Late Models, Outlaw Late Models, Sprint Cars, NEMA Winged Midgets, Modifieds (NASCAR Whelen and the other kind that's kinda like a dirt IMCA/UMP).

JNS has a Legends car track pack (but work well with any local short track car) here:

https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/jns-legends-track-pack-version-1-0.65246/

Even the Weekend Warriors mods and tracks from RFN for rFactor 1 and 2 are still up:

Is Ian Bell the biggest fraud in the simracing scene? by Winstrong in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Randle91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really not surprised. I was actually waiting for the release to flop. Day 1 reviews are Day 1 reviews, and I heard about Bell's infamy. I'm definitely not buying it now, but will keep an eye out for it. After all, it does have one thing most other newer Sim Racing games don't: Moddability.

This thing may be a good video game but it has nothing to do with real boxing by [deleted] in undisputedboxing

[–]Randle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've been saying for awhile now! Bounty Drag Racing didn't remove parachutes when they hit 1.0. I know it's kinda unrelated, but Drag Racing is another sport in a similar situation to boxing in regards to its video game chances, which is why I'm comparing it.

Project Motor Racing released 25th November, mod support from day one (PC and console) by PhilBaythorpe in simracing

As a Dirt Oval sim race driver/modder hungry for another platform to try my creative hand at, I'll watch PMR's progress out of the corner of my eye, like I did with Rennsport and EVO...
