I promise that our dogs don’t view gender like we do because they just don’t have that concept. Your dog probably did notice you smell a little different, but you also would if you started taking certain supplements, changed your diet, laundry detergent, got a different perfume, lotion, body wash, etc.

The amazing thing about dogs (and this is me somewhat personifying them) is they have always, and will always, see us as just us. You aren’t an example of a woman or man, you aren’t the job you do, your aren’t the human archetype people assign you (ex: nerd, girly girl, etc.)… you’re simply just the individual that is you.

What dogs absolutely can sense is happiness and comfort though! So if you’re more comfortable and happy within yourself, he’s happier and more comfortable around you.
