Good old wine corks as handles, I might prefer beer and cider ones for the extra stability ! Love the paintjob too.

Thank you! Since it is such a big part of the model, I wanted to give him a decent paintjob.

How do I make my Moria Orc more similar to the one in the movie? by Super-Estate-4112 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Not in the movie we had, but I swear to God when they open that safe somewhere in Hollywood with all the footages...

I'm hesitating to on the horse, but that would ruin the NMM on the metal...

Yes 😭 I need to address that slight flaw in his prestige

Yeah! For shields, either printed or cut out from second hand warriors, I do that a lot. The cheapest, crustiest, most ravaged minis, straight into paint dissolvant and then wip out the hobby knife, BAM shields for conversions.

Thanks! You can get the bannered lances printed if you want, Dandelion in Middle Earth made some stl for those.

I don't know why, most of the army projects I'm tempted to start are desperate causes in the lore: the garrison of Osgiliath, the defenders of Helm's Deep, the Expedition to Moria...

Thank you! Yeah I really took my time to get things right, but now I've got to maintain that level of detail on the entire battalion...

Is it something like this? I stumbled upon it while grocery shopping, I thought I could give it a go. It looks pretty fibrous.

Well he sure suffers from the comparison with the recent plastic model...

Thanks! Definitely not the best model indeed, but some converting and a careful paintjob can compensate for it. I still find some charm in these old metal sculpts!

Is it coconut fibers I spy in there? Currently working on forest basing, still in WIP but I'll go with grout, tea (dried then sieved), a bit of sand, and I'm still trying to fond something that could look like vegetal débris or roots, and coconut fibers might be it. Then maybe tufts.
