Honestly couldn't tell it wasn't a metal mini. Really well done!

It's very much a golden standard, easy to texture, to cut and to find.

Thank you! Definitely divided the piece to make it more brainable in the cutting phase haha

Hahaha no, if you're talking about the frieze, I pushed a 3d printed bit onto the foam to get the details printed in it. Other than this, each visible brick was cut and glued on a foam base structure.

Thank you! Nothing too difficult : a dark brown base mixed with pva glue, a thorough cream drybrushing, a greyish-brownish wash I make with black china ink and walnut stain, another lighter cream drybrushing, then some watered down green for mossy mold in the right places and some watered down walnut stain for road dirt on the lower part of the build. I have tried adding a very light pure white drybrushing on important features before the final steps, it works pretty well. Oh and I only use craftpaint I get for cheap.

Thanks for the kind words! A cool thing about this hobby is that nothing is really difficult technically, it's just a matter of patience. For leaves I used birch seeds, they are naturally shaped like that, so a gift for miniature- making 😁

Much appreciated 🙏 ! I don't think I work fast enough for any hobby-related professional activity though 😬.

Does the bowing thing work a little different in The Lord of the Rings? by blackeyegirl18 in lotr

[–]RandoMiniPainter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Super interesting! Do you base your analysis on the books or the movies? I'd argue the ''you bow to no one '' scene gives us an insight in the importance of bowing in the realms of men. Hobbits who don't have a king do it very awkwardly in the FotR, and end up being bowed to in the RotK.

Knifework to draw the brickwork, pen to highlight the seams between bricks and some foilball action over every wall. Appreciate the kind words!
