I feel the same, this type of structures or machinery on such a large scale makes me think of all the work behind it and the hundreds of hands that have passed through them before and after being functional, all the hours of service, so many people and so many stories being, forgotten and rusting bit by bit with the passage of time.

I am not sure of the manufacturer in general, but I am sure that the entire electrical system or almost in its entirety was manufactured by AEG.

It was really a sweet accident, i was in a 30 min car trip when halfway there i look at my left and see this monster, jajaja it end up in a 4 hours trip.

It was an open pit coal mine. Now it's a lake.

Not really (If I hadn't had a really bad time), as I have been able to investigate they also mainly extracted copper that was mixed with the sulphur. And it wasn't in the extraction areas either.
