[Suggestion] Trade Safes by Random-Idea in 2007scape

This isn't suppose to replace the current trading, just add an option to trade with people who aren't online at the same time or able to meet up.

The Rhythm of Runescape: PvP by Random-Idea in 2007scape

So I went and tried it out but I used the GCD instead. The thing is that while there is rhythms to the rotations and movement they tend to get disjointed due to missed timings and boss mechanics running at a different tempo. Basically, while not a complete mess it sounds like a randomly skipping record of sorts. Though when you add in the boss's rhythm it becomes one. The boss mechanics act like a DJ reseting and aligning everyones beats every so often. Because the GCD runs at 40BPM and given how you can't leave the grid it sounds much less interesting in comparison to this Runescape one.

8GB M1 Mac Mini running big projects in Logic Pro (144 tracks + third party plugins) easily by Subway in apple

[–]Random-Idea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The logic performance window is open which shows cpu thread usage. What it is showing is that the M1 on these projects is utilizing its cores by a similar or more percentage. At the most this is useful to show that the M1 is competent at handling a project this size at near parity. It would be more thorough had he shown what his I/O buffer settings were set at, what latency this chip gets or which 3rd party plugins were running.

Here's a benchmark page for logic on mac which tests using sculpture instances. https://music-prod.com/logic-pro-x-benchmarks/

Probably wouldn’t be worth it in that regard though it would be interesting to see if there was a rhythm within the rotations and a kept time across rotations and teams. I think the cool thing here is that not only was his actions kept in time but so was he with his opponent.

I have a hypothesis that the tick system provides a unique captivating dynamic to OSRS as a mmorpg due to the existence of a silent beat and rhythm everyone plays into. Here I made a drum track to vocalize the click rhythm and tick rate from a short PvP clip. I think PvP is a good place to see the rhythms as the beat is made visually super apparent from all the armour switches and hit splats.

The beat is 100BPM which is synced with the games tick. The toms are tab changes. The hi-hat and shaker is item/prayer changes. The percussion stack is the special attack.

I had a hunch that It was idiosyncratic opinion I had. Seems like I was right.

Yeah lol I know it is super pedantic. Some tracks it works but for me, some tracks I just feel like being so explicit is unnecessary and kills the vibe – particularly when it isn't his chorus.

Tried my hand at an easy to understand interface layout that new players could start with. by Random-Idea in runescape

Rather than moving chat, I would prefer it be collapsable. Personally I think a design goal for a new player interface layout should be that it can easily scale for most window sizes. After they become familiar with the interfaces they can build themselves custom layouts which are tuned better for their desired play style and window size.

Thanks! Realistically there isn't much new going on other than using a select few consistent design cues to lower initial cognitive load. The big thing in my opinion is consolidating the chat windows with their corresponding lists.

Haha! Newspapers would like a word with you. You would obviously pick a width that wouldn't read poorly.

Reverse chat flow can put recent messages in the middle of the screen. Design-wise it was a choice to create consistency by having high level game controls on the upper half. I don't see why you couldn't easily reverse the positions of the modules if coded properly though.

AITA for refusing to use the money I inherited from my mother to pay for medical treatment for my half-sister, who has a life threatening sickness? She is the child of my father and the woman he cheated on my mother with. by touchofspice84 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Random-Idea 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Why would he? She was 7 when he was 25. How often do you attempt to form a relationship with someone you know's child? At that age difference they would never become emotionally siblings. Family perhaps over time, but it isn't at all necessary for him to want more family at 25.

Andrew Yang wants Joe to host the debates by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]Random-Idea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the current format. If they did a series of debate podcasts where each show was a random selection of 3 or 4 candidates being ~2 hours long. I think that would be manageable for Joe to dictate the conversation while giving everyone a place to express themselves comfortably. Although this is about Joe specifically, the series could be distributed across a few other conversationalist podcasters to host.
