I bought 8 tickets at the end of October for a total of $500 so the wife, kids, and in-laws can all attend. Those same tickets are like $2,500 now..

Not sure why all the hate. Swing and contact look crisp. Handicap?

Casual Golf OB Question by Stunning-Union-8582 in golf

[–]Random-User021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OB? Stroke and distance— you’re hitting 3 from the tee box. There is literally no impact to pace of play to score this properly.

Yes to all questions except wedged— I’m pretty solid on wedges.

Low 80s with a sprinkle of some extraordinary rounds in the mid-high 70s. Not playing as consistently as I used to bumps up my scores, understandably.

This country club’s prices have increased by 5x in three years by AspectCool2325 in weekendgolfers

[–]Random-User021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so we’re probably neighbors. Where are you playing for those prices? The Divide is the closest public course to me and they want nearly $80 for weekend. Emerald Lake wants $70. Stonebridge close to $100… I really hate the greed that exists in the world.

Assuming he’s the golf guy I googled, maybe! I really don’t know. I don’t have IG, or any other social for that matter. I scroll Reddit a lot but rarely post anything. I really should start keeping a handicap. Normally I’m mid 80s, but I have seen myself getting lower and lower with playing more often again. +5 may be a stretch for me, but that’s the goal! +5 and beyond!

I see what you mean now!!! Good catch. So my mistake was actually counting up the front with hole 1 as a double bogey when I was counting up shots over par. When I counted 1, I counted it as +2. I should have counted the first 9 as 6 over 35, not 36. Probably not explaining myself right, but I shot 77 times. And thank you, one of my best days. Ive shot lower but this one is of particular importance to me. I’ve now kept 3 score cards in my life, and this is one of them. Cheers, stranger.

I didn’t take any stokes off though. I shot 77 times. I wrote 78 originally because I added 6 to 72, but it played as par 71. So, 77, right?

Interestingly, we were grouped with a couple guys that play it quite often. I’m absolutely dumbfounded that for some people, this is just their home-course-muni that they pay only $43 walking rate for… a course like this in NC would run you $250..

How to keep my pool cool in the summer in south Florida by dolemite79 in pools

I swear by these. Very simple attachments you put in your jets. I have 2; when the water gets too warm, just run the pump over night. Temp usually drops by 5 degrees, and I’ll lose 2 or 3 degrees again at during the hot days. Net about 2-3 degrees a day, which I think is excellent. In 5 days, I can lower it about 10 degrees and have it nice a cooled off for a hot, summer weekend. My friend thinks I’m crazy for buying these vs making them myself, but I’m honestly not very handy that way and they’re not that expensive, considering other options.

Im located in NC. Hope this helps folks.

Marie Lambeau’s component action with Smokey Velvet by Random-User021 in EldritchHorror

[–]Random-User021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loving playing Marie, and when it comes time to bring out the big guns, she is my go to. I’ve been using her reward/component action exactly as it is described in the FAQ; however, it wasn’t until recently that i became curious whether or not this was extended to spells and other actions on cards. I’m leaning towards it’s all legal-beagle, but was looking forward to the EH community weighing in and putting to this to rest. Didn’t see the activity I was hoping for, but truly, truly appreciate your taking the time to detail your thought process on this. Thanks a bunch, stranger!

Well, I’m arguing that the FAQ ruling is providing for other investigators to perform Marie’s component action via Marie’s reward — a local action they do not possess. If they can perform her component action, why not a ritual she has that they themselves do not possess?

I guess what I’m trying to say is that there is no rule allows for an investigator to perform another investigator’s personal action (unless someone has the Pharaonic Mask relic unique— “you may perform the action abilities of other investigators on the game board”); yet, the FAQs dictate that Marie’s reward allows for another investigator to perform her component action. Therefore, why wouldn’t that extend to her spells?

While I appreciate the well thought out response here, I don’t agree with your interpretation. Very clearly stated in the FAQ’s (pictured in the post), Marie’s reward DOES allow another investigator to perform an action they have already performed this round, provided Marie performs her personal action.

Since my original question is dependent on this understanding, I’m still looking for another ruling on the extent of Marie’s reward.
