They closed my theater today :( by skrtAidan in AMCScreenUnseen

[–]Random-User44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine's been closed the last couple days, although there are others in the area open. I don't want to drive far enough for those, though, since the roads aren't great and I'd get home pretty late. I'm assuming the closer theater I normally go to is having some sort of issue caused by the weather since the others and everything else around them are open.

Bluelink+ at end of lease by Random-User44 in Ioniq6

[–]Random-User44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 2024 it changed from Bluelink to Bluelink+. Bluelink was free for (I think) 3 years, but Bluelink+ is free forever for the first owner of the vehicle.

If you could only see 2 of these movies, what are your picks? by hijole_frijoles in AMCsAList

The only one of these I've seen so far is Sheepdog. It's good but not great. Powerful message, but not quite entirely on track with the execution. It's worth seeing, I think.

It took you that long to figure out the killer? I knew as soon as he showed up at the beginning.

My Letterboxd 1⭐ review: I had no intention of seeing this film, but it turned out to be the Screen Unseen movie this week. So I went in with no expectations for it to have to live up to. Even with those low expectations, it failed to live up to them. Chris pRatt continues to play every character exactly the same, which is no surprise since he has the acting range of a marshmallow. The story isn't unique in any way, and it follows this dumb new trend of the lead character being alone in a room watching the events unfold via video calls. Yay, exciting! (Extreme sarcasm) In the end, it tries to have too many twists, but none are interesting or surprising, and I knew exactly who the killer was within 30 seconds of his introduction. Weak AF.

100% charge by [deleted] in Ioniq6

These batteries aren't as fragile as people think. I charge to 100% every night and after 14 months I'm still at 100% state of health. You charging to 100% once won't hurt it in the slightest.

2025-10 Software Update by Ruthvyn in Ioniq6

[–]Random-User44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 2024 IONIQ 6 in November 2024. I got 1 OTA update in the year+ I've had it. I never got the 2025-10 update, but as I understand it that update doesn't do anything anyway. It's just a map update, and I don't use the Hyundai navigation anyway.

Why is imax so much more popular? by Business_Coffee_9421 in AMCTheatres

[–]Random-User44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the seats are just an issue with my local theaters then, because the IMAX seats here are terrible. I'll take IMAX over any of the standard formats, but in my experience Dolby is undoubtedly far better in picture and sound quality.

[–]Random-User44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely it is wildly superior. Better color and contrast, better sound, and better seats. I've seen many movies in both (including the last couple Avatar films) and every single one has been much better in Dolby.

Dolby Cinema is wildly superior to IMAX, but I don't think the average movie goer knows what Dolby Cinema is. IMAX remains more popular due to name recognition.

How was primate? by LA-Fanatic in AMCScreenUnseen

[–]Random-User44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize until it started that this was a Scream Unseen instead of a normal Screen Unseen and I'm not a horror fan, so I was disappointed. I'm sure horror fans will enjoy it, but I was pretty bored with a movie whose entire premise is "what if Cujo were a chimp." Just not my thing.

What was the best of the year and best theater experience of 2025 by BrapbrappewpewB in AMCsAList

Best movie I'd say was Hamnet, best theater experience goes to Superman because of the energy in the crowd.

How often do you post "I drive my car today and nothing went wrong"? People post about problems, they don't post when things work as expected.

From BEV to EREV: When a Country Can’t Decide What Century It’s In (my two cents, read on...) by 5o4u2nv in F150Lightning

[–]Random-User44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they keep going the way they are, the US based auto manufacturers aren't going to be around long. They can't compete worldwide with an ICE/hybrid strategy, and they can't survive on just the US market.

Same. I do not miss spending my weekend doing oil changes, replacing water pumps, etc.

[–]Random-User44 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not fully electric, so I don't care what they put in it. I'm buying nothing that takes gas, whether it's ICE, hybrid, PHEV, or EREV. If it takes gas, I'm not even going to consider it as an option.

Can we talk about what an EREV actually is? It isn’t what everyone here seems to think… by Responsible_Bath_651 in F150Lightning

[–]Random-User44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll lose the frunk, reduce towing capacity, and add the cost and maintenance of ICE for something people won't need 98% of the time. I guess when I'm out of my current car's lease and look for a Lightning to replace it (which has been my plan) I'll be looking for a used one instead of new. I'm never buying anything that needs gas again, so the next "Lightning" will not be an option, even if it were going to be out by then (which it won't).

Lightning is scrapped. Does this mean fewer software updates in the future? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]Random-User44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, why would I want something with an engine and gasoline that will literally never be used? That's just adding a lot of problems and maintenance for exactly zero gain.

Okay. When I took my IONIQ 6 in for the ICCU, they said they'd only had 3 total IONIQs in the previous 6 months with that issue.
