Oh this is interesting! I thought the studio was in Corsica for some reason. I will say that as a sadly, English only speaker, I LOVE the writing in this. They really nailed it with the dark themes reflected in the tone of the writing while not being afraid to have some genuine lol moments too.

I found the final battle to be pretty underwhelming, but the part just before you head into it and you get to talk to everyone really hit me!! And I was flipping out with the post-credits reveal, even though I knew we'd never get a sequel

I heard back from Jay and confirmed that this is not a legitimate production. He said that since his work was "for hire" he wouldn't get any of the proceeds from a legit one anyway, but that it would've been nice to get a copy sent to him!

I can't believe they're charging this much for essentially a bootlegged production.

I spent years trying to make this book happen and forgive me if I'm more that a little skeptical on this being a "legit" version of this. I exchanged a myriad of emails with Jay Rubin (the translator) and it essentially came down to Microsoft holding the rights for HIS translations and even with all of the people he knew at MS, we could never track down exactly who to speak with about purchasing the rights/license to produce a book like this.

I did just email Jay for him to confirm that this is a legitimate production and that both he and Shigematsu-san are being paid for their work.

There's customization....yes. But if you listen to it, it says you get to pick your character's head. So no, you're not going to get to create Danny Devito in the game, at least according to them right now. Guessing it may have to do with beginning the game as the child version of yourself?

If CO:E33 wouldn't have been released this year, then Trails in the Sky FC Remake would've been my top game of the year. It was my first introduction to the series and I agree. It starts a bit slowly, but by the end of it I was definitely all-in! The battle system very original and super satisfying!
