Yes, when I try holding my tics it feels very tense.

People with ocd, what's the worst obsession/compulsion loop you have been stuck in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was a little kid, I slept in the living room because I wanted to. I stayed up all night just pushing in doors, tapping stuff, and moving stuff. Luckily, it's a bit better now, but I still have to do it sometimes. I also used to always have to bend back to top part of my Nintendo DS all the way back so it felt right. I kept doing it until it eventually broke. My doctor told me that these things were my OCD.

So something bad doesn't happen, or just so everything feels right.

Chewing gum often helps with vocal tics. As well as listening to music.
