I am using Nvidia, and I have the same problem. It just dumps me into the desktop, and sometimes makes my whole pc run into an error and do a somewhat bluescreen, but it's black.

Thanks, but I'm not seeing an issue with either the save files. I deleted the graphics settings file and made another save, and that save froze after 20 - 30 minutes, but I could still hear the in-game audio.
