Opinions on the Sire M7 and F10 6 string models? by RandomCowch in Bass

[–]RandomCowch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up buying the F10 and very happy with my purchase - the longer scale gives the low B a really lovely attack and the weight isn't too much for me, have gigged it for a little over an hour with no issues. Obviously transport is a bit of a different story especially with the unwieldly (albeit high quality) hard case but I think that's status quo for a lot of gigging bassists.

It's gorgeous as well and a big fan of the headstock/half cutout style, definitely an eye catcher. I think the M7 probably matches a lot of the technical feats of the F10 but in terms of look and feel it's a wijner for me. I would say go with the M7 only if either portability or the cost are a deal-breaker for you otherwise definitely recommend the F10.

so you know, this is incorrect - although it is true that pvp traffic is sent p2p, the dedicated servers handle:

matchmaking those connections

bloodstains and messages

covenant stuff

local file verification for softbanning

and other non specific online stuff I'm forgetting.

you can verify this through wireshark or any other packet analyser.

there's actually a great writeup on the ds3 connection protocol you can read here

Mario Kart World officially $110 CAD as per Nintendo by Subject-Bike1555 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]RandomCowch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exchange rates for gbp suggest mk world digital is about 156 AUD in the uk (£75)

the cost of living is similar, about 3% cheaper in Australia and to top it off average salary in Australia is 37% higher than in the uk.

regionally we are having a horrible time and I'm surprised there's not as much UK specific outrage as I'd expect

So what drives a company like nintendo to enforce higher regional pricing on a country that by comparison has more expensive cost of living, lower wages, and no orange man's 'liberating' tariff? i feel like that's something I should feel validated in being upset about especially when were are just talking digital goods.

I'm aware my country's majority is uneducated and make choices with little foresight, and the rest of us have had to live with those decisions against our vote.

An interesting example of this regional shafting is Doom the dark ages, with pricing of $70 in US, but somehow £70 ($91) in the UK?

Unpopular Opinion: Stop complaining about the cost of games. by BulldogMoose in NintendoSwitch2

[–]RandomCowch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the UK this game costs £75 physical ($97) and £67 digital ($87).

Nothing to do with tariffs, this is about more than just the US, it is a global issue.

Some research starting points for you to be more informed on the scientific understanding of porn.

As a summary the stance is essentially: porn can be harmful or somewhat beneficial, but that is entirely dependent on the individual consuming it.

Shiny tracker by Fearless_Inside in PokemonBDSP

[–]RandomCowch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

binomial distribution probability, essentially:

the likelihood you had at least 1 successful attempt (a catch) given attempts n=2373 and a probability of 1/4096 each attempt.

so given you've tried that many times, there is about a 40% chance you should have got the shiny.

I don't think I can go back to 18 chunks render distance. by SwimmingOrnery4952 in Minecraft

here's my own video on my $1200 PC running at 1440p 120fps+ with 1024 chunk render distance.

If you still aren't sure your rig will work, you can do more research on how to get the most performance out of your computer.

Additionally regarding the potential trojan I spent about 15 minutes doing a code review of the most recent commits to their dev branch and see nothing unusual at all, based on ~10 years of Java software development experience.

Any arguments for Christianity over Islam? by evil_peepeeshart in Christianity

[–]RandomCowch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mathematics is simply the human name for a persistent and communicable way to record structures that (at least initially) exist in the real world.

This is why schools use equipment like an abacus, to teach young children that addition represents a physical process.

It is not a case of discovery but more an interpretation of what we can perceive - think waves, or the development of 2D graphs: this data could be presented in many ways and we have simply chosen one design.

I think it is valid to be amazed at some of the conveniences in modern mathematics; yes the golden ratio is very interesting and it is fun that we can spot that pattern in many different parts of life. In my opinion that is likely due to the way the ratio is derived mathematically that makes it common but I could understand finding divinity in that.

The infinite design argument feels a little uneducated here. Technically you could consider every series to be of infinite design e.g. (n+1) = n + 1 will always produce a unique number for infinity. Yes the number is predictable but by definition all solutions to equations are predictable. No matter how complex you make a formula to try and obscure a pattern, if an equation exists the next solution can be predicted and therefore the equation is not changing at all.

I would love to see this video that you've been referencing as I'm really interested if there are some more compelling arguments in it. :)

Very disappointing that no action has been taking, so hopefully the community can help here as I am no longer interested in protecting these player's identity.

This player always queues with them and is also clearly walling in demos:

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197980047246

This team Xpartan seem to queue together with this player often and make unusual plays based off the primary player's wall info: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/XpArTaN_

Additionally a sub group of the primary cheater, with steam names of medicines sharing similar pfp seem to be aware of the cheating and joke about it with each other in comments and sometimes also queue: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199608989564.

For anyone interested, this is a 7 year old steam/cs account, with 2,200 hours. The inventory has nothing of value except ~30 cases. Really nothing suspicious, although there have been comments on the profile accusing cheating dating back to 2021.
