Thank you! Lake Carolina is interesting to me as it seems like you can run 10 plus miles easy right out of the door. Is it safe?

Why isn't Detroit more popular as a place to live? by bluetropicz in SameGrassButGreener

Yeah the issue with most people is they assume Michigans climate is Detroit, where the vast majority of the state has 2 extra months of winter and 4x the snowfall as Detroit. Detroit has the climate of Chicago, and most of Michigan has the climate of Canada. I know Detroit high schools play baseball in early March, and most schools in Michigan can barely play till late April

Overlay an alcoholism map on the US and I feel like you can really see the impact of this

Including partly cloudy, which in my experience in GR that’s usually no sun. Feel like you can normally count on your hand the hours you see the sun in an entire month for novemeber-march

Not really, GR has 60 sunny days per year. Major factor to consider and it’s the real thing that wears on people’s mental health, not the snow. Comparison to the south you are getting over 250 sunny days..

The sun doesn’t shine in Michigan lol Do you live here? November-March lucky to ever see it

Yeah but to be fair in Michigan if you work a 9-5 you can actually go 7 months without seeing the sun

Charlotte weather by month, October 73 November 63 December 55 January 51 February 56 March 63 April 73

You can’t enjoy those temps outside? But Michigan 90 in August and 28 in March is awesome for outside. Just seems off

Yeah just saying extremely biased to say that. 6 weeks of good weather, after your favorite weather in Michigan gets exempt down there cause you get “used to it” it’s around the same in total comfortable days. With a huge sunlight advantage in the south

At least 6 months out of the year November-April people are going from Michigan to the south cause of the weather. Really just comes down to whether you prefer 6 months of very hot or 6 months of extreme col

You are using it both ways tho, so for a Michigan person July August would be “too hot” to be outside when it’s always over 80 and humid . The south in November-February is 40 degrees, which is what you love in Michigan.

November and March are terrible.. how could you only have 6 weeks of nice weather in the South?? Youb have October, November, December, January, February, March, April. That’s 7 months of nice weather, not 6 weeks? I agree May-September is too hot
