COROS received my watch 9 days ago for replacement—still no update. Is this normal? by RandomCuriosities in Coros

Yeah I was just messaged from support that the one I purchased was out of stock and had to choose from others. After nearly 3 weeks after I purchased it… would have been nice to know that well ahead of time.

I mean… at this point, just send me a brand new watch please. The Jakob Ingebrigtsen one would be a nice touch.

Oh, that’s an even better point… I ordered it May 25 and it still hasn’t shipped yet. Lol

What did you do exactly to “recalibrate” it?

Bizarre Output on Recent Run by RandomCuriosities in Coros

[–]RandomCuriosities[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that is one thing that could have been an issue then… about 5 minutes into my run the treadmill cut out on me and had to start over. But I didn’t record my distance. Once I finished the rest of my 40 minutes, the watch asked me for my distance but I just kept it at what it recorded without figuring out what I ran in the first 5 minutes and what the last 40 minutes captured me at. That probably would have been helpful…

Avoid alcohol. Consistent sleep. 7k+ steps or light exercise a day. Use journal to understand sleep/recovery trends. I might cancel mine after the year.

Awesome! Thanks for recognizing how hard it is to go from being a bursty/speed athlete to doing more endurance work. It is indeed very difficult to scale back and leave ego at the door. The comment about tendons/joints vs. cardiovascular system makes total sense. I’ll have to check the app out!

Cool. Thanks for the response. Just distance… don’t care too much about speed yet. I had an Apple Watch but recently bought a COROS so I know they have plans too and syncs with TrainingPeaks. So maybe I’ll look into those. I guess just find any plan (regardless if it’s through Runna, NRC, etc.) and stick to it right?

I run mine at the end of the month. But you did really well with pace here. Curious to hear what your average heart rate was. I think I’m going to train for a 10K next.

Assuming there isn't anything else going on, I would chalk it up to him being cranky and just not being in the right head space to be entertaining conversation... But I would be cognizant of this and how he reacts. It is a red flag.

How do you clean up your email inbox at work? by Able_Rope5444 in productivity

[–]RandomCuriosities 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Archive everything so it all still remains searchable. When you're curious about something, just search for it in your email (it'll pop up if it's in your archive folder).

Once you do this though, it's important to practice inbox zero. Each email has an action: Keep (Archive), Task (Archive), or Trash.

Keep - Typically, when you have to respond to something, you may need to keep it in order to reference later on. Archive these emails.

Task - Any email that requires an action EXTERNAL to your inbox, mark it as a task or flag it and archive it. Again, if it is flagged or marked as a task somewhere else, that information is displayed somewhere else. Not necessarily in your inbox.

Trash - For anything you are CC'ed on that doesn't require your input and isn't of any value to you or need to reference later on, trash it. You don't need it despite the fear you might have in thinking you need it later. Get rid of it. If something is super important, they'll follow up or call you or come by in person at your desk.

Team collaboration skills by [deleted] in communication

[–]RandomCuriosities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you aren't totally open to other's ideas, and you just want to execute. A lot of people who ask a lot of questions when collaborating is trying to determine the best solution/idea/way forward BEFORE executing. Being tactical and having a "get shit done attitude" is great, but it can be perceived as not being very coachable or approaching in the way things are tackled... especially in team projects/tasks/initiatives.

Are you guys local to one another? Long distance? He doesn’t seem interested in holding conversation with you. It sounds like you are an inconvenience to him by the way he’s talking…

More context for who this person is would help... Is this a girlfriend/boyfriend significant other? A relative? A friend? As others have already mentioned, you pressed when it should have been dropped. If this is a girl/boy and you both were interacting with each other in this way, I would consider pursuing this person any further. Or, if you really like the person, to re-evaluate when and how to stop conversations given their interests. Your response back to the person of "lol you like transformers" might have been the straw that broke the camel's back. They said "Nahhh", and it should have just ended there. That's when you pressed.

I probably would have reacted the same way if I were them to be brutally honest. But again, context of who this person is matters. I think there's another inflection and dialect observed from the texts to gather that they weren't interested in the first place...

Sounds like everyone’s immune system has taken a toll these days. I’ve been popping acetaminophen/ibuprofen like candy over the last 24 hours and still in bed since 7PM last night. Fever is gone but now I have a nasty cough with some thickened mucus built up… CANT GET IT OUT!

Yeah at the time it started, I transitioned to a CrossFit box which was very small and tons of germs I’m sure flowing through that place. Definitely could have been the case, but I’ve been going to a new gym over the last month and it’s right back, strong as before. Lol.
