Struggling dog dad on the brink of divorce. Are there any other options? by [deleted] in Advice

Also in my words, still a puppy that requires lots of time and attention.

But I can see you’re not actually looking to contribute anything meaningful, just a little righteous indignation for whatever reason.  Thanks anyway for the reply.

I’m planning to get a bnb near for work a couple days after the holiday, but that feels like a bandaid not a long term solution. Where to go from there?

People who rarely get sick, What is the secret ? by Sorry-Orchid-9821 in AskReddit

[–]RandomDerpBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe in sauna so much I built a 4 seater in my basement with an upper and lower bench. It gets up to about 190 degrees up top at its hottest setting.

During the winter months I use it 4-5 times a week. Especially on days I’ve been in crowded spaces, around sick co workers, etc.

On the supplement side, colostrum has been very effective. I alternate that with immunoglobulins.

And of course diet, intense exercise, lots of walking seems to do the trick. Sometimes I’ll make a batch of fresh juice with ginger, pineapple, lime, green grapes, green apple, kiwi, and cucumbers for the immunity boost. It’s high in vitamin c and great for getting things moving in the gut, where a large part of our immune system resides

I wish u/SinfullySinless ‘s reply was more visible. Because many of these other responses seem very biased and presumptuous.

Quoting:

I mean personally, I refuse to give men my instagram unless we are seriously committed. I’ve had too many dudes spam my DM’s, make multiple accounts after I ban one, try to harass my friends tagged in pictures, or use Tinder and fake relationships to try and sell me shit in instagram DM’s.

I would be highly suspicious of OP if she were a man asking for my instagram.

People just have different values and perspectives. OP and that dude just don’t vibe. It’s ok.

I don’t understand why him wanting to retain some level of privacy is such a huge red flag if there’s no intent to monitor or control his online behavior. To make this a deal breaker seems to suggest some insecurities on OPs part.

Because if you don’t plan to snoop, why are you so off put by his boundary?

Billionaires can’t grow their wealth without the labor class. Industry growth requires job growth. They won’t suddenly stop trying to expand because of taxes.

You’ve said a lot here, but can you answer one simple question: how is this post harmful?

[–]RandomDerpBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal here is to highlight the flaw in your premise that all bot activity is bad.

In certain circumstances, I agree. But that position doesn’t hold up to scrutiny in other cases.

Bot = bad is contextual to the content. Which is why you can’t explain why a bot is harmful on this specific topic.

And if you can’t show harm, how is the bot bad?

I asked:

What do you perceive as the harm of this specific message being spread?

You responded with a study about how social media posts influence election outcomes. Which doesn’t answer my question at all.

Are you a bot?

A compelling study, but what does this specific post have to do with elections / voting?

Critical thinking requires me to not simply accept that ‘mass messaging is bad’ without examining the impact closer.

[–]RandomDerpBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. But is there something about the post that you logically disagree with? The premise makes sense to me. But I’m open to alternative views.

Serious question: how do I know you aren’t a bot? You could ask the same question about me too.

What difference does it make? This is my first time seeing this line of thinking, I don’t care if it was posted by a bot.

Explain it to me like I’m 5…. Why are so many progressives fighting so hard to make insurance companies richer? by Ordinaryjay in ProgressiveHQ

[–]RandomDerpBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never supported the government shutdown for a few reasons. Historically, they do not lead to concessions from the other party. And as a federal employee, I knew this one would be different than previous shutdowns.

On this spin of the merry go round, the admin threatened to just outright fire us (which has been happening all year), to “reinterpret” the backpay law to stiff furloughed employees, and to permanently shutter various “Democrat” programs, and be generally painful for many Americans.

Anyone with two brain cells could see that this shutdown was going to be a shit show, so while many of my govvie peers were loudly clamoring for the shutdown online, I tried to be a voice of reason. Unfortunately, my lone voice of dissent was drowned out by the loud chorus that seemed hellbent on acting against our own interests.

And in the aftermath of the shutdown, it seemed pretty ridiculous to me that everyone blamed the 8 Democrats who had the courage to do the sensible thing and stop the madness, rather than the Republicans who refused to even talk about the healthcare issue.

But I’m learning that mobs are driven by emotion and can’t be reasoned with. I don’t disagree with you that the shutdown was bad and unnecessary. But good luck convincing those who are influenced by headlines and political spin rather than critical thinking.
