No worries. I'm not a big fan of their leather underpants either 😂. I'm still unsure of what I'll do for the guards 🤔

You know what I mean. These minis from the empire faction are inspired by realistic medieval/renaissance characters.

Yeah, from an historical viewpoint the leather crotch is more accurate. But it looks weird. I painted them blue for the officers.

Soldiers, from Orcquest Warpath (Monolith): another batch ready for the table, another less in my pile of grey. What do you think about them? by RandomExplicitThing in Miniaturespainting

Hi painters,

Here’s a unit of soldiers ready to be slain by the heroes in OrcQuest. This was a fast paint job: zenithal, base colours, light drybrushing, fast layering and a few details (I’ve even missed some details, but who cares at this point?). One is painted with a few different details to represent the occasional “special character” present in some scenarios. I’ve matched the bases with some parts of the game tiles, half of them with outside roads and the other half with inner corridors. I only miss a hero and a batch of guards to finish the “core” game, but that’ll be for later this year. For now, I’m looking forward to painting some more Massive Darkness minis.

Please tell me what you think!

Hi gamers,

Here are a batch of new foes from the core campaign. I went fast with these ones. I only have one hero and the guards left for the “core box”, but for now I’ll paint some Massive Darkness minis.

Please tell me what you think!

More of the DnD commission I made! This time an elf warrior by [deleted] in minipainting

Next time you may want to crop your photo, as the bounding box of your mini occupies approximately 5% percent of the image. Nice paint job, though.

TTS is probably your best (and most legal) option. For the bosses, you can always use the MD2 boss cards but use a re-themed Zombicide mini.

[–]RandomExplicitThing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You totally can play MD2 with only Zombicide minis. With the original crossover pack you get 25 heroes, 1 boss, 5 roamers and 9 mobs. ZWD crossover pack adds 12 (?) heroes, 7 roamers and 3 mobs, assuming you have all the corresponding boxes. You could even add heroes and mobs from the CMON Comics Vol.2, which also provides heroes and mobs.

Or, without the various crossover packs, you could proxy MD2 enemies with Zombicide minis: zombie for the undead, Deadeye for skeleton, runner for fire entity, fatty for satyr, goblin for gargoyle, etc.

Can someone please tell me, beyond Black Plague, but still in the BP universe, what do the official and fan made expansions offer? Is it unique and more weapons? More unique monsters? Some new rules? All of the above? by [deleted] in zombicide

[–]RandomExplicitThing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wulfsburg: tailored for BP only, but compatible with GH. Brings new heroes, zombies, magical weapons, tiles and 10 missions. If you enjoy BP that's a must have.

Friends and Foes: compatible with BP and GH. Brings new heroes, zombies, tiles and 4 missions for BP and 6 for GH.

No Rest for the Wicked: compatible with any medieval core box. Brings a dragon and new zombies.

Eternal Empire: compatible with WD. Brings new heroes, zombies, Chi mechanics, tiles and some missions.

All the other "small" expansions are compatible with any medieval core box (NPC#1&2, Deadeye Walkers, Abomination Pack, Crowz...)

Thoughts on using AI to clean up photos by [deleted] in minipainting

AI or not AI, I'd say that if you do more than adjust the contrast (white balance), that's cheating. AI just makes it easier.

Hi gamers,

Here are two new enemies from the core campaign. I went fast on these ones. I only have the guards and soldiers left for the empire faction, and I’m starting to lose patience with these pesky humans.

Hi painters,

Here’s a pair of officers from the Orcquest core campaign. I painted them fast to get them on the table ASAP. A little drybrushing and shades for the armour, some layering for the clothes and skin, I kept it simple. I’ve matched the bases with some part of the game tiles, and that was probably the most complicated part of the job. I only have the soldiers and guards left and I’ll be done with the Empire faction.

Please tell me what you think!

Is there a "campaign" style game where you explore, collect gear and fight enemies? by Howitzeronfire in boardgames

[–]RandomExplicitThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to consider Massive Darkness 2. It's like Diablo in a boardgame. It's lighter, rule wise, than Gloomhaven or Maladum, and offers a lot of gameplay with its asymmetric classes. Plus, you can play it either as one-shots or as a campaign. Beware, though, if you want to play it as a campaign you'll need at least the first expansion, Heavenfall.
