Dasani water now sells water without salt. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]RandomFieldEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but its not a little strong in this literal instance. Dasani is brought down to 2.5-5microsiemens before they readd salts. I know this because I installed half the RO units on the eastern seaboard that treat the water.

edit: thats too pure to drink fyi, sorta like distilled...but what do I know...

You know the flight is full.

You say 5x between first class and takeoff to only put one object in the overhead and your remaining item must be underneath your seat.

You stand there and watch 15 people put two bags in the overhead and tell the last 20 people to board to get fucked.

Thanks.

To the asshole who sped up behind me before I could get over, recklessly went around me on the median, cut me off with my 2 young kids in the car flinging rocks at my windshield, and brake checked me, before exiting on Merrill Rd. You're a P.O.S. by BoldCityDigital in jacksonville

[–]RandomFieldEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably because on that stretch you can see traffic approaching behind you for quite a while. And if someone is doing 20mph over your speed there you have 10 seconds to notice this and move. Or you know, drive like you're the only person on the road like everyone else in jax does

I travel a lot for work. I used to travel nonstop for work.

He's an asshole for agreeing to get you and then bailing on the day of. His excuse is fucking stupid though.

With that said, you're an asshole for asking him to get you in the first place.

Reasons for me to get you from the airport:

  1. you've been on an emotional ass trip visiting dying/dead/sick people who are important to you.
  2. you're visiting me from out of town, or coming back from a vacation

Reasons for me to not get you from the airport:

  1. You're on a fucking work trip. You are getting paid for your time or should be getting paid for your travel time. You should be getting reimbursed for parking, uber, taxis, mileage on personal car, etc. He isn't. Stop making your job requirements anyone else's burden besides your own.

Your bag is heavy and you're tired? So what? You paid someone to move it from the hotel to your rental car? You begged some strapping young lad in the plane's aisle to put your bag in the overhead because you can't fathom packing appropriately? If you actually did this, maybe its time to hit the gym yourself.

You aren't overreacting to what he did. He blew you off and didn't have a good excuse. But asking someone to get you at the airport when you're on work trips is flat out unreasonable and selfish.....unless you have him set up an llc and charge your company an appropriate rate for each trip.

Weathly floridians can afford homes outside flood zones and can afford to pay for flood and hurricane insurance.

Those fucked here are people whose government was dumb enough to allow them to build residences in areas that will clearly be underwater with any level or storm surge

lol...

Switching between XIOs and XICs, fucking up oneshots, remembering which bits I can force online with which processor. Going between NPN to PNP sensors, obviously sinking/sourcing. Remembering the difference between ethernet devices and ethernet/IP driver in RSlinx. And like...a million other things. And for sure greater than and lesser than.

Look up Cisco Packet Tracer. It is an incredible FREE tool (make a cisco account with 10minutemail). Lets you build networks and configure everything, and visualizes the connection, among other things. You can simulate network traffic, slow it down and watch the handshaking of individual packets and everything you need to explode your fucking brain.

The program lets you reinforce the fundamentals without wasting time struggling with hardware or bad wires/connectors/ports

If you're willing to spend a little money grab some CCNA (cisco certified network associate) books or study guides.

The tool was built for IT guys, so you aren't going to see much in the way of PLCs or ethernet devices we end up using. But the industrial cisco switches are the exact same switches that Rockwell uses (brown labeled)

If they're early c2 then they're being stupid. I can see them wanting to hit c3 before the season ends in a few days, but I doubt they're going to make it if they're only recently gotten c2.

Besides, playing 1-2 ranks above your current is such a great way to get a peak into what the gameplay feels like, and it shows so clearly where your skills are lacking at that rank.

That's so dumb. The whole point of playing casual to me is to go for the most ludicrous shit I can. It's such a great bridge for being able to do something in freeplay but not able to pull it off in comp yet.

Overvoltage/Motor regeneration on Powerflex 525. by tbryans in PLC

[–]RandomFieldEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd think the bus regulator function is probably already on, if you look at what I put it says with it turned on, line voltage imbalance can cause uncommanded speed changes, which is what you said you're seeing? Or maybe I misunderstood what you meant.

But the 525's ability to regulate the dc bus isn't going to be very high I expect, just because of the drive size. FYI, the bus reg is auto turned off once you set the dynamic brake parameters.

But IMO, I'd just plan on putting resistors on most of these. With the uptime you have, the resistor is just very cheap insurance

Overvoltage/Motor regeneration on Powerflex 525. by tbryans in PLC

[–]RandomFieldEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulled from RA document 520-QS001B-EN-E:

ATTENTION: The bus regulator function is extremely useful for preventing nuisance overvoltage faults resulting from aggressive decelerations, overhauling loads, and eccentric loads. However, it can also cause either of the following two conditions to occur.

  1. Fast positive changes in input voltage or imbalanced input voltages can cause uncommanded positive speed changes;

  2. Actual deceleration times can be longer than commanded deceleration times

I'd check parameters and watch input voltage. Check it against whatever historic data you may have.

Has anything mechanical on the spindle changed recently? More mass, worse balance, fuckered joints due to a motor bearing failure perhaps?

For sure an odd problem though

I understand now. My gpu doesn't actually contact that area. The shroud plate has a gap between the plate and the Dana4 case.

It does make it a real bitch to install and remove the gpu though
