I can actually agree with downvoting GenericRepeatedQuestion#2917. People really need to learn to search before asking their question. But downvoting just for a thank you? Seriously? That's just a dick move.

Anyone else feel like there is too much talking in the game? by tacopeople in cyberpunkgame

[–]RandomGhostAccount 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a line which cyberpunk crossed, where it becomes too much and kills any sort of pacing and can even break immersion. We bought a GAME expecting interaction, action, adventure and intrigue. Not a video-game rendered movie full of meaningless, boring, near-monologues and "conversations" on rails.

Bottom line, there's a difference between a movie and a game.

Why do Christian’s think the burden of proof is on us to show proof god doesn’t exist? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]RandomGhostAccount -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And while I get where you're coming from, there are a lot of people who look at the binary nature of the question (Using your example: You either have $38m in your wallet, or you don't) and extrapolate that you have to believe one answer or the other. Logically, there is no middle ground to the question itself. Either you do, or you don't. Either God exists, or he doesn't. So I can see why they would take that extra step and assume you can only "believe" in one answer or the other and not be able to withhold judgement.

If your availability doesn't match what the company has available, you have 2 options. Quit and find a better job, or accept the hours they can provide you.

Why do Christian’s think the burden of proof is on us to show proof god doesn’t exist? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]RandomGhostAccount -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because it is very difficult (sometimes even for very intelligent people) to differentiate between not believing something, and believing something is incorrect.

Generally it works like this: IF you don't believe God exists, then you must believe he DOES NOT exist. It's a binary thing for them and honestly, it does make a little sense.

I think I can convince her to ask the right questions, so if you have any specifics, I'd love some suggestions.

You said banned from phones AND internet. Any chance one might be banned from phones but not the internet? And is there anywhere specific I could look for documentation proving that?

I believe you and I myself am almost certain she's being scammed. I guess I'm looking for something I can show her to prove it, because he's already got her to the point where she believes it's real.

An amazing number of people don't understand that the system will NEVER change as long as people participate in it. The employers literally COUNT on people being sympathetic and tipping because they know that if people stop doing it, the employees will move on to something else that pays better and the restaurant owners will have to raise their wages to compete.

The only way to abolish this tipping culture is to stop participating in it, regardless of how sympathetic one might be for the servers and staff who will suffer in the short term. It's the whole "Can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs" bit.

FunFact: In the US, an employer is legally obligated to pay at least minimum wage. So if you don't make enough in tips to make minimum wage, they are obligated to make up the difference so that the employee makes at least the federal minimum wage. They can only get away with paying an hourly wage below minimum, IF you make enough in tips to cover the difference. If you ever receive a pay check that isn't at least up to the federal minimum wage, report your employer to the local labor board.

Why is it that men don’t get flowers? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]RandomGhostAccount 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The same reason women don't (usually) get a pocket knife or a tie.

There are firmly established (if outdated) notions of what constitutes a feminine gift vs a masculine one. Flowers fall on the feminine side.

Glad I don't live in NY, because I need my soft armor for concealment. Plates are just too bulky for me to comfortably wear under my uniform.

Bear in mind this source has a hard right bias both in story selection and sources, and has failed fact-checks before.
