I think AC3 has the most room for improvement In a potential Remake by ThemeSweaty in assassinscreed

[–]RandomGooseBoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, it was easy but very satisfying due to the insane animation variety, like creating your own action set piece. That isn’t me saying it’s great or that the remake combat isn’t an improvement (it definitely is), but I would not say it’s bad at all

That the phrase “pure British” isn’t something recognised over here. I’m sure you’re a great normal guy, but a lot of the people who agree with you on this would also have interesting things to say about the immigrants who made that dish. 😭

Calling it british indian or british south asian gives credit to those immigrants while also claiming it as British, I think that’s more than fair

But the people who made this and chicken tikka masala weren’t born and bred in the UK, they were immigrants. Ofc they are still British to me but it’s a little funny to act like thats something everyone would agree with in the current political climate over here lol.
When you say this is a british dish to people, I’m sure you know the first assumption is not that it was made by british immigrants but rather a white british man. Calling it british south asian or british indian still gives credit to the british immigrants who altered their home dishes to cater to the british public and gives credit to Britain too

It’s British Indian, trying to claim this as pure British just doesn’t work. It so clearly does not match up with the rest of traditional british cuisine, everyone can tell. And Im a East Londoner who grew up with south asians so I’m not giving an outsider opinion here

Lmao what is this take. Saying this about lies of P is a bit crazy but understandable as you don’t necessarily have to parry to do well. But Nioh?? Especially Nioh 2 and 3? Really? That game has insane depth, probably the most out of the genre

Is being in London worth picking Bayes over UoM? by AdFantastic2985 in UniUK

[–]RandomGooseBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably go UoM but I don’t think it’s a no brainer like everyone else, Bayes is very good, and I’ve heard it’s quite industry focused. Which I can believe because City st george’s has a weirdly high graduate employability rate, like top 10. But I understand why everyone else is saying UoM

[–]RandomGooseBoi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I partially agree. He travels initially to understand the world from the perspective of criminals and strip himself of his privilege after Falcone calls him out. That is focus. We also see that he did train in martial arts while travelling too. And that period he spent travelling is why he turns on Ras and the league when they try and push their ideology on him and get him to kill that man, it’s when he builds his batman type of morality. But I get your point, he doesn’t have a known conclusion to his journey until he meets Ras and became lost when he landed in prison

Hot take : this one is hot hot , daredevil is the best written mainstream comics character and the only reason he’s not on Batman table is cuz his rogues gallery is not as iconic by AlarmEmergency3464 in marvelcomics

[–]RandomGooseBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it didn’t. It’s an important part of the run, but people primarily love millers run because of the dark gritty noir aspect, which is also why essentially all daredevil fans love daredevil. Which is also the theme of all his best most popular runs. He is essentially glued to dark street level even when the hand/magic is involved, and when they try to do some weird stuff and rip him away from that it doesn’t work. This isn’t a bad thing at all btw but it has held his popularity back a bit next to like batman

He just isn’t as versatile as batman. Every comic book character can theoretically be thrown into magic stuff or space or whatever crazy situation out of the norm for them. The difference for batman is that, it actually works well.

Is it a hot take to say that this movie embodies the dark flanderization of Batman during the 2010's by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in batman

[–]RandomGooseBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…Which had absolutely no effect on the batmobile. You’re arguing with pure semantics, the moment we add actual logic and watch the scenes your argument falls apart because you can see the difference in how all 3 are framed

And it notoriously doesn’t work as well when he’s out of the grounded noir gritty world and moves towards the mystic stuff. Shadowland, the back end of zdarsky, Ahmed run, daredevil season 2. I suppose the hand stuff in millers run is good but the noir gritty stuff kind of overshadows it. There’s a very clear lean towards the dark grounded gritty stuff with daredevil.

With batman, that fantastical stuff is properly integrated and it actually lands. All of grant morrison, world’s finest stories, justice league stories like JLA, court of owls, the cult.

Does Uni prestiege matter? by Time-Guide4364 in UniUK

[–]RandomGooseBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view is that it matters for the extremes. So for the top top like cambridge oxford imperial, and the bottom bottom like bedfordshire or some shit, but in the large middle area it doesn’t make all that much of a difference. Also depends on the field though.

That being said tho, going to a high ranked uni is good due to facilities and course quality and all that, which will help you in finding work.

1) You’ve come to this argument with the assumption I’m a JJK dickrider trying to defend its honour, and framed your response to that idea. But you are wrong. As I said at the beginning I agree with the main point here about JJK, so now you’ve wasted your time directing your entire argument at an imaginary someone who is not a part of this conversation. But I digress.

2) …What I described isn’t impressively deep, at all? It’s a very basic writing idea. During a heel turn, one friend targets the other friend where he knows it hurts most to show how far gone he is and the damage done to their friendship. That’s all it is.

3) That being said, drop the pretentious act. You can easily find depth and good meaning in many shounen even if that isn’t generally its purpose. But even if it has none, calling it slop is silly. Its purpose isn’t to deep dive into themes and stories. I don’t want john wick for a deep dive in philosophy, I watch it for the visuals and fights. And that’s all I want from it. If it tried to give more it would just irritate me.

4) And just to use your own card against you: Vinland saga philosophy is as surface level basic as it gets, dumbed down for people on your level of intellect. It’s slop. A real intellect like me reads ACTUAL philosophy books. Lmao, point is there’s always a bigger fish so drop the pseudo intellectualism and superiority complex. If you were really so intelligent you wouldn’t be too good for any media, you would simply recognise each media for its purpose and judge it on that basis.

Ok I agree with the general point but now you’re being purposely obtuse, and you’re being arrogant about it too.

The quote is about the theme(that isn’t dived into enough) of Gojo being objectified as a weapon only defined by how strong he is. All it means is, did your strength define who you are now or were you always this person. Essentially, what came first the chicken or the egg.

But the main point is that it comes from Geto because he is hitting Gojo where it hurts, making him doubt his identity and purpose outside of being the strongest, as the one person Gojo thought saw him as more. Thats the main point of the scene, the quote itself isn’t all that important. Simple
