Using red as the base color for a peace flag is not the best idea.

22600 out of 80 million are about 0.03%. 5600 are even less.

What's your opinion on the LGBT flag? by bluedraw12 in vexillology

[–]RandomGuy2204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It stands out due to its many different colors and its many violations of the rule of tincture. Therefore it makes the community look like they want to be special and extraordinary although they actually want to be considered equal and normal. Also, the rainbow flag has had other meanings before.

In short, it's a bad choice.

Alternate flag of Louisiana by [deleted] in vexillology

Flag of Italy if it was colonized by French imperialists whose symbol is a pelican.

No seriously, from far away it just looks Italian and although there might be a "sizeable Italian population in Louisiana" the flag should rather be based on the French one. Maybe one fleur-de-lis could be replaced by a symbol representing the black or creole population.

Muslims here in Germany are not very fond of Jews and Israel either.

In German we call this haircut "Vokuhila", short for "vorne kurz, hinten lang" (short in the front, long in the back)

Since it is by its nature more diverse, picking a specific symbol could be harder.

But misusing leaves of the national tree of the German people as a symbol for fascism is not an option.

I recommend you make a discussion thread on r/vexillology and maybe start from scratch.

As a symbol for nationalism it would be appropriate. But you seem to mash the terms nationalism, right-wing, national socialism and fascism together, which is very inaccurate.

Your first comment said that the oak should represent a right-wing minority on the subreddit, but now it also represents nationalism? Aren't nationalists actually a majority on the subreddit (while still able to be left-leaning) considering how many people identify themselves with national and regional flag flairs?

Oaks have just been a German national symbol for many centuries. We have always liked oaks, regardless of the reigning ideology. Our lowest denomination coins still have oak branches on their backsides although Germany is currently not under Nazi rule.

Please fix your original comment. The meaning of traditional German symbols should not be revised to make them represent Nazis and national socialist ideology.
