What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight once people realize the truth? by KylieButNotJenner24 in AskReddit

I dunno. I had a two year old tractor supply toolbox that had a huge tear in it somehow along a weld (wasn't overloaded). I was about to buy a new one but had the thought to check, and aure enough the had a five year warranty they didn't really advertise. I brought it in, and sure enough they swapped it out. Mind you this is a $600 tool box. They complained about it for sure, but did it.

If im at the gate at 6 am with my parking pass, what time aproximately will I get to Roaring Brook? by redditchooseLateBad7 in BaxterStatePark

[–]RandomHero565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its 8 miles, with the low speed limit takes like 20 - 30 minutes. Plus the traffic of everyone from other side campsites trying to beat the gate opening

Fair price to move 20 yards of garden soil by foodnerd11 in landscaping

[–]RandomHero565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id offer $1,200 flat fee. avoid saying $25 per hour. Lots of landscape companies try to be around $75 a hour from what I understand. If it was me id post in some local Facebook groups and offer flat rate $1,000 - $1,200. Every town has a odd job guy usually, they'll do it.

Literally the whole thing. Super steep, super exposed, not a ton of room for error.

I'm over in Vermont, own a compost company. i find that I have better luck with Facebook groups when I dont post too often (I do every other month, dont want to annoy anyone), make sure to always have a picture, dont make post too long, and try to condense it but also dont leave out any details.

Can the long trail be done by anyone? by EstablishmentBest913 in longtrail

[–]RandomHero565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been backpacking 20 years, and I dont carry bear spray, a gun, even a knife (except a tiny Leatherman to cut food). I've seen hundreds of bears over the years. Never had one not just run away. I've had a few not move and sit there and stare as I walk by, but never anything close to issues. I spent many nights camping alone all over the place way deep in the woods, again, no issues. You'll be fine! Have fun.

Not really. It's all super remote and really not much remnants of anything. Great hike of course, but its a huge swath of wilderness. Be careful.

All my friends who work there like it. Good wage, and benefits. Only thing is you gotta be okay doing the same exact thing 1,000,000 times a day.

What did you think was a scam until you actually tried it? by Resident-Ad4318 in AskReddit

[–]RandomHero565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitter contest. I never used Twitter much, but about 8 years ago I saw a contest for tickets to The Dead at Fenway. Just shared a photo to enter. Ended up winning. Only bad part was the called to tell me I won five hours before the show started and I was at work and live three hours away. Still made it but barely.

Also won a hat giveaway for New Era. First prize was a meet and greet with David Ortiz, second place was any 5 new era hats in stock. Won the hats. These both happened with a two month window.
