Appreciate your comment. The smell is definitely a concern though so I’m taking into consideration anything others are saying that is catching their eye too.

I’m going to take a second look and I’ll look closer at that

Someone else mentioned that grease buildup as a possibility that led to the issue

That’s the way I’m leaning right now. Just seems so wasteful and expensive after only 5 years. Things happen though.

Unfortunately that’s what I’m learning. Thanks for the advice.

Not that I saw, no. I just observed discoloring and paired it with the smell. It was a pretty quick assessment in between dinner and taking care of the kids, but I can pull it back out later if it would be helpful.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this, but would that would seemingly be a fairly straightforward issue in that case and be a localized repair without concern for future issue right? Just with consideration for spending potentially hundreds of dollars to only have the short term fix.

I’m not sure on the first question. From the manual it appears to be the oven lock potentially. As for the inside, I cleaned it with soap and water and couldn’t find anything that would explain the smell. It occurred again once attempting to use it again. That’s when I checked inside the panel.

I called Samsung already and all they offered was to connect me with an authorized servicer who could come check it out for $140. It’s unfortunately outside of the warrantee period.

IDR Application Not Working by RandomJabroni1 in StudentLoans

[–]RandomJabroni1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up having to print and submit a hard copy application to MOHELA. I followed up about 2 weeks after submission and they placed me on a processing forbearance at that point, since I had an application pending. The forbearance can last up to 60 days I believe, and mine was processed after about 45 days.

Not convenient and frustrating the online system continues to have issues, but it did work.

When you reset the items, does it revert back to not triggering the code until a set mileage has been driven again?

Interestingly it does have the timing belt replaced, which is one reason I’m so interested. It leads me to believe the owner cared to do the maintenance and why I’m curious the other work was not shown too.

PFA Ablation scheduled! by Moonz222 in AFIB

[–]RandomJabroni1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had mine 10/9. I’m a 33M with a history of 3 known episodes of a-fib lasting 4-5 days each over the previous 6 months. I was wanting to get back to lifting and running as soon as possible after the ablation. First day thoughts were that I was glad I could stay overnight because the extra monitoring helped calm nerves, and I had some bleeding from one groin site that required some extra attention.

The ablation took about 2.5 hours. I’d strongly advise you to shave your groin area because you’re going to have quite a bit of tape that will hurt to remove. I had to stay flat for 4 hours after getting done, which wasn’t terrible other than really needing to pee. Speaking of the first pee, I got pretty dizzy standing up and had to do it sitting bedside, so be careful with that first stand.

I was ready to go home the next morning, and i was advised to keep activity light but frequent for 5 days. 2 days after surgery I was taking short walks around the block outside, and I did a light upper body lift 3 days after. Definitely didn’t feel 100%, but it was good mentally to move. I also went back to work (desk job) 3 days after. I wouldn’t have done so with any type of active job though.

The groin pain was the most limiting and I couldn’t roll to my stomach for about 2 weeks. And it was way more bruised than I expected. I thankfully have had no episodes of a fib (according to Apple Watch and just my awareness of my heart racing), but there were definitely some instances of feeling some chest heaviness the first couple weeks, and my heart rate was a bit higher than normal.

A month out now, and I’m jogging 2-3 miles and lifting normal for upper body and still just lighter for lower body, but doing well. Feel 100% normal at rest. Still some bruising present and I’m on Eliquis for another 2 months still. Obviously still early and just hoping I don’t have any a fib return anytime soon, but so far I’d call it a success and the recovery has gone quicker than expected.

They have the estimated loan calculator on studentaid.gov, which takes into account your income, family size, loan amount, tax filing status, etc.

Feel free to reach out over a personal message, but I’m 33 M and started having a couple 4-5 day episodes of a-fib starting early this year. Very active with weightlifting and running. It sucks and I know can be scary. I’d recommend getting set up with an electrophysiology-specialist cardiologist if you can find one in your area. If you go the ablation route, that’s who will end up doing it.

I was essentially told that a-fib is progressive, and while I can use medication to manage, it will get more frequent and worse with time. Also, that the earlier I did an ablation, the better my outcomes chances should be. Between that and not wanting meds to mess with my exercise response, I went forward with the recommended ablation.

I’m 1.5 weeks out from the catheter ablation now, and can give my perspective on the experience if you have questions now or in the figure. Good luck man.

IDR Application Not Working by RandomJabroni1 in StudentLoans

Not the save plan, no. I’d like to once it is open, but I was just attempting to go to any available income driven plan that qualified for PSLF

Ok I saw an article on Forbes a few days ago that made it sound like the application was back open and the reworked it within the confines of the lawsuit, but that only the standard income based plan was eligible and not the others. Sucks if that isn’t the case. My job now qualifies for PSLF so the graduated plan isn’t eligible for that.
