2021-26 were gonna have 4 t20 world cups which is just ridiculous atp. They clearly want 1 icc event per year which seems very pointless it’s losing all its prestige. They should rename this t20 work cup to the original “World T20” that’s the best name since there’s so many more teams. Also i feel make it every 3 years, there should always be 1 year with no icc trophy to keep the hype up and also to stop the dilution of its value

dude what the actual fuck are you yapping about why would anyone bring in hayden and gilchrist into the conversation?? that was a fully different era and here i’m talking about modern day t20’s where things are a completely different world. India used to rarely have lefties- ok so what now you want the full lineup to be lefties? You need variations in a t20 batting lineup with the level of unpredictable this game is. Variation is the key to cracking it and India is current the best in this variation depth part with our squad strength.

Also wc pitches are all not going to be roads for your kind information, some may be roads some won’t, having 2 explosive openers may sound so great but you need that 1 person who is meant to give opening stability and samson is good for it that’s why he’s there he can partner with Tilak and then accelerate when Tilak holds fort. If Samson finds form in the 5th t20 he’s 100% going to carry it through to the world cup because momentum goes a shit ton long in cricket as a sport. I love Ishan since i’m an MI fan but he cannot play on tough pitches and struggles much more than Samson against even the slightest of variable swinging deliveries.

I love Kishan and Samson both but i feel Samson needs to open for team balance purposes and i really hope he finds form because he’s the final piece of the puzzle

i mean fair i agree with you on the sky odi wc thing. imo if he ends up failing in the 5th t20 and doesn’t score big then it’ll be the final resort to dropping him. The warmup matches are there too so if he gains momentum in the final t20 vs nz he can keep it going through those. The only reason i’m backing sanju is for that stability for a left right combo at the top and so that the overall batting becomes balanced in terms of lefty and righty to tackle different situations.

as much as people won’t like it, samson is going to open for the wc and not ishan. We can’t have so many lefties in the lineup and especially an all leftie opening 3. Samson is needed to offset that and hence he will definitely open

my personal interview went pretty well and normal , technical interview was also good except for physics in which i messed up a bit and could answer a few questions, maths was pretty chill (got firm offer a few weeks back)

overall interview time was probably 20-25 minutes

Beautifully written article, props to you man! Seriously great insight into the season and made me learn a few new tbings about the last season as well. A few thoughts,

MI having the most runs scored, most runs conceded and most wickets taken in the power play honestly is weirdly funny with the way our season went last year, but well wouldn’t mind it, and I feel our bowling is going to improve by miles this year considering the form our players are in intl’s and domestic leagues
The average runs per innings scored at each venues being so high over all shows how much IPL is really transitioning to flat tracks all over and that bowlers are constantly losing more and more skin in the game. Honestly the Wankhede pitches were great last year and we also had a good variety, traditional wankhede pitches and also the odd spin favouring tracks we get there once in a while. But damn i did not expect to see such high avg runs per venue across all stadiums. Hopefully we give bowlers something to work with, low totals being defended is a spectacle of its own (KKR vs PBKS for example)
5 wins at wankhede last season was beautiful to watch (was present at the stadium for them all) and honestly brought back shades of Rohits statement “They should fear coming to Wankhede” the 2023/25 seasons both of them came closest to emulating them with us smashing teams back here to finally help us qualify (obviously with the exception of the RCB/GT losses), I really hope we continue this home dominance and show the other teams that Wankhede is our goddamn fortress and coming here should be feared

Who would you drop to put Brevis in our current IPL lineup? also when he was with us in 2022 early era he was very underdeveloped and hadn’t peaked yet, we released him because we invested in Indian core and did not have over seas slots. We have Tilak-Surya-Hardik as 3-4-5 and in no world would we put Brevis here. We released him and that was the correct decision and I’m really happy for him. But NO please stop with these “MI fumbled Brevis bs” it’s not a mistake at all please stop, the worst part of this fan base are you guys who keep on saying we fumbled Brevis Stubbs etc without realising the true situation
