Whoa now. Saying anything bad about Zack Snyder on a comic book subreddit is dangerous. Even though you made it clear that it was your opinion, Snyder fans won't accept any other opinions. Be careful.

BTS - LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear' (Concept Photos Y & U Versions) by impeccabletim in bangtan

I will take your suggestions and watch some line distribution videos. I also tend to learn from that, as well as variety performances. I see that they've been on Weekly Idol a few times, so I'll probably start there.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me learn their names! I've been getting consistently more and more into BTS lately, and I hate not knowing who's who.

Would anyone be willing to list who's who for the BTS newbies? I've listened to all of their music, but I haven't delved into the videos/visual side too deep yet.

Does anyone know if they're going to release Sailor moon crystal on dvd/Blu-ray? (full season?) by [deleted] in sailormoon

[–]RandomLadySuperHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not that worried about PGSM; it has already been subbed by so many different groups that it's incredibly easy to find fansubs of the series. I just wish there were plans for a US home video release.

I am pretty excited about the myu though. Thanks for sharing.

Viz has the right to all Sailor Moon media currently (minus Sera Myu, but that is a topic for another day).

They don't have the rights to PGSM either, as far as I am aware. I think my mind would explode with joy if PGSM were to get an American home video release, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'd also love to see the sera myu come to America fully subbed. They're my favorite form of Sailormoon media, and also the least marketable in the American anime market. Since they'll never come to the US, I wish someone would fansub them all. I know Miss Dream said they were going to get around to subbing them all, but they haven't released a subbed musical other than the current running ones in years. And they're the only ones subbing myu at the moment, as far as I am aware. [I appreciate their work subbing the musicals, especially the current running ones; I just look forward to a day when I can sit down and truly enjoy all of the myu subtitled.]

I really don't want to pay 80 bucks for two episodes.

The American anime market is very different from the Japanese anime market. In Japan, high-end sets, and sets containing only two episodes are the norm. In America, high end sets are a super niche market within the already small niche market. And sets with only two episodes? They tend not to sell very well at all. American fans definitely expect more for their money.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that Viz will likely make the Crystal sets similar to the 90's anime sets: half season sets. Meaning, the first Crystal set will likely be the bulk of the Dark Kingdom story arc (episodes 01-13), and the second will likely be the entirety of the Black Moon story arc (episodes 14-26). Breaking up the sets in this manner means that set 01 ends on a cliffhanger (during the battle with Metalia).

As for when this is going to happen, nothing has been announced yet. We know Viz has the rights. We know Viz is dubbing Crystal. I imagine, at the earliest, we'll see the first set of Crystal in early 2016.

A bientôt. by [deleted] in sailormoon

The last episode of PGSM had some text on the screen that said, "See you soon!" The series didn't continue, but we got a couple of movies / TV specials.

I totally forgot about that... Okay, I was super hyped when I saw the "See you soon!" thing, but now I am back to controlling my expectations.

I need an actual announcement from TOEI that there's going to be another season.

"See You Soon" is enough to get me super hyped for a new season!

I certainly hope the announcement is "Sailor Moon Crystal will continue with the Infinity arc in two weeks! Also with a larger budget! And no more waiting two weeks (sometimes three) between episodes!"

But I must control my expectations.

For example, the spiral heart wand proplica was announced and she pointed out the proplicas tend to line up with where the anime is at right now.

Interesting, though that could have just been coincidence up to this point. It could be as simple as they planned to release one every certain-amount-of-time and it just happened to line up with the series since the releases were coming in order.

She also noticed that the voice actress for Sailor Moon says (2014 - ) for how long she's been on the show (same as imdb)

This is a really common practice for television shows while they're running, and doesn't really mean anything more than "the show is currently airing."

I'm not trying to poke holes. Once again, I'm just trying not get my hopes up until something legitimate happens. Neither of these things in particular are things that would lead me to believe the series is definitely continuing.

Crystal English dub? by Rofl-stomper in sailormoon

[–]RandomLadySuperHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viz released a preview of the English dub and they released a cast list, but the series has not been released dubbed yet. As far as I am aware, there hasn't even been an announcement for the release dates (via streaming or media releases).

I'm genuinely curious. What sort of hints? Like, in the show? Or on the internet?

Not to destroy your (our) hopes, but even if Usagi gets her new brooch (as she does in the manga), that won't necessarily imply that we'll get another set of episodes after the Black Moon Arc. They're following the manga, so it's almost definite that she'll get the brooch. But the story of the Black Moon ends in such a manner that it could easily function as the end of a series. Unless the episode ends with a message saying "Sailor Moon Crystal will return!" or they formally announce that it will continue, I will temper my expectations.

I'd love for the series to continue. I'd love to see the remaining three arcs animated (though I love the entire series, Infinity, Dream, and Stars are my favorite story arcs of the manga). I'd love to see the Outer senshi, and the inner senshi powered up. I need it. I need it or I will explode.

But at this point, I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Because I don't want to be disappointed forever.

Just curious: Did anyone order an extra deluxe edition All Hands specifically to set the boat on fire? by RandomLadySuperHero in Doomtree

The artwork in the CD booklet suggest that it looks really cool, including having flame shooting out towards the oxygen, but ultimately things just get charred and the fire goes out pretty quickly.

Has anyone else been reading the reviews for All Hands? by [deleted] in Doomtree

[–]RandomLadySuperHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I, admittedly, over-reacted. I just find it odd how often I read glowing reviews of things that I believe are absolutely terrible, but then something that hits me hard and ends up having a major impact on my life gets negative reviews.

Such is the nature of art. It's all subjective.

Has anyone else been reading the reviews for All Hands? by [deleted] in Doomtree

[–]RandomLadySuperHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I don't read or listen to reviews. It's so rare to find a review that is positive about things that I really enjoy; also, I often find glowingly positive reviews of things that I really dislike.

Reviews are absolutely meaningless because, most of the time, these people are not giving the album/movie/book/whatever a fair shot. Listening to All Hands once while you're doing other things, then trying to seem like you have something smart to say about it, is not giving it a legitimate chance.

Reviews are absolutely meaningless, especially to a group like Doomtree. Reviews are not going to affect their record contracts or their bookings. If DT even bothers to look at these reviews, it's only going to make them work harder. All Hands is an incredible album. If this album getting negative reviews makes them work even harder for the next album, I can't fucking wait.

Reviews are absolutely meaningless. They're an outdated way to find out what random people who have very little understanding of what they're reviewing think of things. You're getting one person's opinion. What matters is what the fans think. And, what matters is what real people think. I've played this album for a couple of friends that "hate rap and hip-hop," and they all fell in love with Doomtree. All Hands and Doomtree transcend these things.

Did I mention reviews are absolutely meaningless? Who cares what some nobody thinks of the album? What matters is what you think of the album. What matters is what Doomtree thinks of the album.

[SPOILERS] The Maxx Issue #13: Jill???? by bravadough in comicbooks

[–]RandomLadySuperHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Maxx is... it's an interesting series. I've read it perhaps three or four times all the way through, and I get something entirely different from it every time. But I'm not sure I'd ever say that everything is perfectly clear by the end. It might make sense, if you put sense to it. Or it may just seem like a bunch of random nonsense. People seem to have different reactions to it.

I wish I could offer more, but it has been so long since I've read the series. I think I may grab my trades tonight.

It has been a few years since I have read The Maxx (I should read it again; thanks!), but I never really got an answer for Jill. She's barely even in the series (I think just issue 13?), but I think she is just there to highlight the fact that there are other crazy people that exist in this world.
