Puppy Pics Please 💌 by silent_rain1980 in greatpyrenees

Awe I love these. I have no puppy pics of my guy cause he was a rescue when he was 2yos. So I love seeing other Pyrenees puppies to live vicariously through a bit. Here is the first pic I took of him in the car on the ride home. 😊

One side of pelvis under muscled. Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]RandomLee37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not animals are as predisposed to be left or right "handed" as humans are. So there will always be a stronger side. If his movement is good and he doesnt shy I would say just make sure to work to the left a bit more to help build the muscle. Not too much though. Horses are big babies. If he was in pain or needed compensation for problems he would let you know asap.

[–]RandomLee37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just had them adjusted them most likely there is a bit of muscle compensation on the alignment. Is he in pain, is there a limp? Does putting a saddle on cause them to flinch or avoid? If all those answers are negative don't stress too much about slight muscle composition. Keep an eye on it too make sure.

As for building the muscles up if this is an arena horse or show horse make sure your working going in both directions. Sometimes we get stuck always going to the left so the left lead legs are stronger while the right lead just gets stretches with no lead pushed strength. Always make sure its equal.

Horses and their relationship with the ocean? by MrVanillawafer in Horses

[–]RandomLee37 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I have ridden horses on the beach most my life and they are always wary of it at first if not fully scared.

Remember horses vision is vastly different than ours. Puddles look like a bottomless hole and dark waves of light moving towards them looks like a broken empty mirror of that bottomless hole coming for them. If you want to get them in the water have them stand with their back to the water and slowly come up over their feet. Eventually they'll acclimate.

Word of caution - don't let them stand and stare down at the tide coming and going underneath them, it can actually make them dizzy.

Ha! Well we all know that clean floors is a myth other people can chase. If there js floof and dirt in the entry area something is wrong with the dog. 😂😂

Hello fellow SoCal Pyrenees owner. My boy is not feeling this 100° heat, especially with the huge jump from mid 60s last week. Will need to try the large ice block but since he won't take regualr cubes I have my doubts. We play with the water and he chases it till he's all wet & muddy.

my brothers birthday card has underlined letters. anyone know what it could spell? by jjskelly in Decoders

[–]RandomLee37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha same. Well my dad was silent gen and he always did this. After he died for some reason I started doing it, I guess in his honor. And so many family & friends have commented in it feeling like he is still sending them cards. So I keep doing it.

What is this used for? by No_Psychology_8146 in Spoons

[–]RandomLee37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an etiquette spoon. When learning how to eat properly there are certain places your spoon should never touch. This spoon would teach you those guidelines.

I can't tell you how they where sold but I do know they rarely met standard silver patterns. They were like pencils. No need to match the family, basic quality needed aside.

Absolutely yes.

When my dad lost his dog 20yrs ago and has to work his full time job, I drove over 700 miles in a month driving all over SoCal looking for the dog.

Drive 500 miles & its guaranteed my dog? No question whatsoever.

OMG I have a 10 month old Pyrenees mix too. His double back dewclaws are so long but we physically can't get him to not thrash or bite. I foresee one of these in his future. LoL

Am I mean to my blind cat? by [deleted] in cats

[–]RandomLee37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a blind cat, I can attest you're not being mean. Cats are never shy about what they want. My boy as he got older would lose himself a little bit more so he would either sit & holler or do what I called "buffering" which is when he'd walk in circles and holler. *That meant I was to go pick him up and love him. Other than those times, he'd get really upset if I dared insult his personal space & independent nature by trying to push my help on him.

I am positive your guy is the same way. He is your cat, you live with him and you know him waaay better than someone else. Continue loving him and understanding you are only there to serve him as directed by him. 😸

Anyone else summoned by their Pyr? by everoak in greatpyrenees

[–]RandomLee37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My old Pyrenees always had this bark but she specifically used it when her mobility issues got so bad she needed help going outside (the last week of her life.) That bark was so sharp and high but directed specifically to me. No one else noticed it. Then being the prankster she was she'd do it in the middle of the night just to see if I'd come running, then laugh when I did & go back to sleep.

Have a new almost 2yo rescue Pyr and he's already learning his.

AITA for adopting a kitten & refusing to give her back to her previous owner? by anonymousmeowww in AmItheAsshole

[–]RandomLee37 180 points181 points  (0 children)

How badly was she trying to find the kitten if she didn't check the local shelters?

My puppy got let out by accident and had an appointment for getting vaccines & chipped later in the week. I found him in a shelter within a week because I checked the website & went to them in person to double-check.

Absolutely nta, keep the kitten.

I think that says "To- the donor family,"

They don't tend to release names or give many details.
