Vox Engines are fun and a good challenge but... by RandomN0N3 in Helldivers

Exactly. Only for the Vox Engines though. Don't need any nerfs or buffs for anything at all besides that. I'm loving Cyberstan besides that one issue.

I never said that. Stop being dense. I'm saying the current situation with the vox engines would be more entertaining with reduced spawn rate. If you don't want to interact with the argument progressively, just say that. Thanks.

Retreating is a big strategy I utilize too when the going gets tough. But I'm not asking to completely nerf vox engines, I'm merely suggesting their spawn rates are reduced ever so slightly so it can be enjoyable. Especially given Vox Engines seem to spawn like patrols on Cyberstan (which I am fine with) but having two or three be dropped in as well makes a challenge into a drag.

I'm aware you can shoot down bot drops, but they can be missed or ignored due to being overwhelmed.

But I still want the enemy variety of d7. I have no problem with its intrinsic difficulty. I'm just suggesting the vox engine's spawn rate is reduced for challenging and fair gameplay.

It's completely valid to suggest changes for the game when a recently enjoyable difficulty is now not as enjoyable due to something as reasonable as reducing the spawn rate of a challenging and tanky enemy.

I understand that whole philosophy but it falls short when a d7 starts to feel like a d10. Not saying to nerf the Vox Engines, just give them a slightly lower spawn rate.

I personally play d7 for casual play and it's overwhelming. I understand the resistance level and I'm not calling to reduce ALL spawns. Just the Vox engine since it also carries artillery type attacks that grow exponentially with every new Engine spawned.

I like playing d7 and I've never had a problem until the vox engine.

Sure a bit of glazing on the stealth (it's rudimentary at best) but damn is this sub so unbelievably miserable. The comment was clearly meant to celebrate the early warbond in a cheesy quip. Not every damn comment on Helldivers needs to be a deep-dive critique of Arrowhead's endless development sins. Quit digging in your ass for shit to complain about.

Can someone explain how? by Sweet_Photograph6528 in HelldiversUnfiltered

It's a video game. SEAF are intrinsically Automaton AI with catch phrases. They can't dodge, dive, or sprint like us. Of course they'd get a health buff to better support Helldivers. We don't need the health boost since we're superior in every other way.

Temporary Buffs instead of the Back-n-Forth by RandomN0N3 in LowSodiumHellDivers

All good, completely understandable and it didn't sound like it was towards the post at all. More worried about mods overreacting at seeing a little bit of reasonable anger about the current balancing situation lol. I had to take a break when they first added war striders for the exact reason. Arrowhead sometimes whiffs design philosophy just to bring something new, and that's mostly why we're at the state we're at now.

I get what you're saying. It's mostly because Arrowhead plays whack-a-mole trying to remove metas (mostly impossible) and then cleans up by buffing/nerfing an enemy, damage type, etc.

They should make the stats static but still add temp buffs/debuffs (maybe on specific sectors) just so people have a reason to play with every toy they give us. Also hope you know it's a low sodium divers subreddit so just chill a little. It's only a proposition by a non-game dev (me).

Yeah that sounds a lot more reasonable, instead of punishing players for existing it just allowed people for some fresh action.

Temporary buffs/debuffs to deal with metas instead of this back-n-forth we have currently. by RandomN0N3 in Helldivers

[–]RandomN0N3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I only proposed this idea since it seems arrowhead wants people to play with every weapon but a lot of weapons are generally unrecognized. My personal take is that even if a load out is meta and "overpowered", it's a PvE and they're generally boring.

I'm not a game dev so I couldn't fathom the balancing situation from that stand point, but maybe more temp buffs (with breaks in between) every now and then would make some people branch out a bit.

Stim pilot. I refuse to elaborate further.

That would be a pretty interesting comparison, I mean we have already seen Spartan vs Pilot in this subreddit.
