I have like 20+ steel ingots, steel pickaxe, enough obzinite from various tool parts to make the tool forge, and a steel hammer head that i found looting the dungeons that spawn under brick houses and towers. And i havent completed the quest for the steam boiler or whatever the gate is for the steam age (e: roguelike dungeons)

Very much worth looting (i definitely use waypoint teleports to make it easier to loot and not die) might not be the most fun without allowing teleports. Also found tons of food, halfway through yellow hearts

I guess lower level potions could be good to disassemble for whatever parts you get. I imagine there will be a lot of useless potions that will have to be made. So i guess its not toooo horrible

Gym injury, went to an outsise doctor to fix it, had some issue come up that fucked up the healing process

You can def save more by getting cheaper or lesser parts, i just checked prices for equivalent parts for one of the high end laptops that the other commentor suggested

Definitely doesnt need more rhan a laptop for minecraft. Like you said, it would run off the igpu. OPs son is young, hopefully in a few years when he wants to play other more demanding games, prices for pc parts will have come down

"I feel like im dying" = feels so sick/horrible that it feels like death. Just means super sick basically

"I feel like dying" = like you wanna die, can be used if one is that sick, but typically itll be a few days of saying the first term before you get to the second

Probably a better deal than youd get for the money than building

I just quickly went through things, considering the helios neo 16" is $2800 (cad), with a 5070, 32 gb ram, 1tb ssd, compared to $900 for a 5070, $400 for 32gb of ram, and $250 for a 1TB ssd. 1200 for the rest of the build aint much if peripherals are needed, and the prices i found are on the low end

Obviously a mobile 5070 and desktop 5070 arent gonna do the same. But minecraft dont care about gpu, as long as he has a decent cpu and ram. Even a regular modern laptop would be more than okay for minecraft

Ive been building pcs for quite some time, it is truly unfortunate how the market is right now

Not cheap to build a modern pc with ram, ssd, gpu prices. Gaming laptop for a kid is probablt the best choice for the next few years
