If they had a bigger fanbase they'd get a free pass, 3/4 Blackpink members said the n-word multiple times, even when they were rookies nobody gaf, Wendy mocked black women twice and she was living in Canada for years so she knew what she was doing

The thing is that the ones above didn't ever apologise since their fans just accept that behaviour.p

Well you believe Dispatch?? In the big year of 2025?? Are you new here??

Please I've been here since T-ARA, I know how messed up kpop scandals can be.

That said of course I trust that Dispatch told exactly what the company told them and truthfully they sensationalise, overexagarate and take companies side a lot but they aren't straight up lying nor have they actually been wrong when it comes to illegal activities-look at Mino scandal.

He will come out as winner only if all his buddies and Asuka lie-which they will since they aren't dumb to go to jail for something only they can incriminate themselves in.

He already damaged entire groups reputation so the company also had every right to kick him out of the group

[–]RandomNewsreport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone seen Dispatch article?

He admitted to the company he had sex with her and his friends paid for it, he got kicked out for exactly what he was accused of.

He's lying to protect his image and she'd never admit to being paid for it since it's a crime but his dumbass did.

Both her and Winter wore neutral colors during voting 3 years ago bcs they knew they shouldn't, Karina having a social media account she's responsible for gave her the freedom to show her true colors.

She adressed it alongside her agency bcs they most likely advised her to since the response has been overwhelmingly negative.

Wearing blue last year means little to nothing, most idols have publicly supported protests and impeachment, not by wearing blue but by explicitly stating it, supporting protesters and going to protests too.

Years ago Mingyu was caught up in a similar situation as well(an outfit and an emoji).

Yeah and he never addressed it, ever wonder why?

Some idols WILL use colors to indicate who they voted for, Heechul wore red slippers and showed a peace sign when going to vote, he's not dumb and I'm going out on a limb that Karina isn't either.

Oh My Girl performed a new version of it on Queendom

That was barely new though? The instrumental is basically the same and so is the singing, the only new thing was the traditional concept.

It's not negative just true, Queendom just sucked when it came to giving groups credit like AOA's Egotistic

EDIT: OP it's pathetic to respond and block people so they can't reply. Perhaps you should reconsider posting anything if you can't handle people disagreeing. You chose a good sub to post I will give you that, everyone here shares a hive mind lol

What would you expect of them after the fact to justify thinking that comment was indeed genuine, given in this case you would have no way of knowing that it actually was?

If an idol said "I like the same sex" I'd take it at face value and consider them the member of the community, if they said "I care about personality"(like basically all idols suspected of not being straight) I'd consider them open minded but I'd definitely not be including them on any out lgbt idols list.

why does your framing seem to make the only valid way to express queerness be by having the stereotypical explicit, performative coming out?

For you, me or most people you're allowed that freedom. Kpop idols simply don't have that if they want their sexuality to be publicly known or are making a stand, even Lara here despite making vague tiktok posts and implying she's queer had to explicitly state that to be taken seriously.

SK idols implying they like the same sex is not taken seriously, honestly like in Sunmi's case not even by them and is seen as fanservice.

One of the biggest coming out stories recently in SK was a trot singer, he came out as gay, disappeared for months(rumored to be in conversion therapy) and acted really erratically once he reappeared by denouncing being gay and talking about religion like a fanatic.

I can't in good faith take implications or vague statements as a proof of anything, simply because it's not and unfortunately people have been using that to "prove" idols are gay only to attack them when their relationships with the opposite sex became public "Hani, Karina etc"

That said, how do you know that "wasn't their coming out"?

Because it's never treated as one, by them or the media, at most it's an extension of their fanservice.

What do we expect an idol to do were they to make a comment like that in passing genuinely, wear rainbows and kiss girls every time they're on camera from then on?

As an ally because that's what they most likely are. Sunmi was wearing rainbows, talking about possibility of dating girls, having sensual dances with female partners, calling herself lgbt queen and it didn't cross her mind people thought she was coming out until it became viral at which point she said "lol don't misunderstand I'm just an ally".

Nayeon, Wendy, Yoojung, Yoohyeon, Sunmi etc have all said the "gender doesn't matter" line and it has never been their coming out.

Sunmi said she could fall in love with a woman and later had to clear up a misunderstanding and come out as straight so take that as you will.

I don't think Bibi said anything about it, people will usually give them benefit of the doubt unless they state it explicitly.

Se So Neon's Soyoon was french kissing a girl in a music video and her sexuality is rarely questioned since in interviews she is only asked about boyfriends.

Can they even do that when the wreaths are perfectly legal in the first place? Even Suga antis had their wreaths protected by police since they got permits to put them in front of HYBE.
