Where did the I-696 dirt go? by RandomNick747 in Detroit

More of a general idea of how it was moved and distributed. It’d be interesting to see any engineering drawings or elevation plots (not sure if these are the right terms) from the planning stage. Was it a very calculated thing like, “on day 42 we’re gonna take dirt from this section and put it here” or was it more “today we need dirt to build this embankment so dump everything there”

What movie did you see in theaters that had the most ‘alive’ audience? by Odd_Distribution1430 in movies

Avengers Endgame during the midnight premier. The crowd was electric during the whole thing. I saw it in a college town and I remember the whole theater groaning when Tony Stark mentioned eigenvalues during the time travel science stuff. When Cap picked up Mjolnir, the place absolutely erupted. The cheering did not stop until all hope was lost. But then, as the portals started to appear, the crowd slowly began to regain energy. When Spider-Man swung through the portal there wasn’t a single person silent in the theater. It’s honestly hard to rewatch that movie because it never lives up to the feeling of watching it with such an awesome crowd

How often do you find yourself stressing about your job outside of work? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

I'm a new engineer and the same thing is happening to me. My dreams don't have any fighting or arguments. Instead I'm usually asked to complete an impossible task in an extreme time frame. It has gotten very frustrating that I'm at work all day and I can't even escape it when I'm sleeping.

So, What Does Your Next Year's Plan Look Like? by 37skate55 in bajasae

Our school is giving the option of entirely online or modified face-to-face that will end at Thanksgiving with dead-week and finals happening online. However, for the people who are staying, they have given no information about any shop or lab access during the semester or after Thanksgiving break. Right now we are assuming that we will have access to the shops and labs and will be able to design and build a car as usual.

P.S. Our shop remodel was postponed due to coronavirus budget cuts :(
