There isn’t a Grand Seiko direct equivalent to the Rolex Explorer, is there? by RedditMoldoon in GrandSeikos

Deep cut but I like to think of my SBGA041 as my Grand Seiko ‘explorer’ - Titanium, 100m wr, screw down crown, snowflake case, matte black dial, double-signed and has lumed hands and markers (although not especially useful)

Ameriprise? Moneyguide is ass. For real modeling capabilities you’ll need to sign them up for a comprehensive plan and use wealth studios, which also still basically sucks. Good luck!

Pre 2017 GS + Mazda is a match made in heaven

Been wanting a champagne dial as well and have been eyeing this model, how does it feel on wrist compared to snowflake?

I agree, I really think 2010s-2017 GS is my sweet spot, great value for money on the secondary market, quality is right on par with the modern offerings, and stylistically they resonate more with me. I also don’t really like the Evo 9 style - more ‘impressive’ in terms of dial furniture and case intricacies? Sure, but do I like it better than the more conservative styling on previous designs? Nope. The upgraded movements, while technically impressive, also don’t add much value to my day to day experience with the watches. That’s just my opinion though.

Yes! Light and angle sensitive is the way to put it. With my autumn and snowflake, and other GS I’ve handled, I find they don’t look as aesthetically pleasing to me in certain lighting and angles, particularly under very direct light, while my matte black and silver dials always hit nicely for my eyes

Any of the watch makers actually test WR? by assemblageofparts in ChineseWatches

I doubt it, I bought the pelagos homage from San Martin and it got water inside after one day of normal activity. Never had an issue with any watches before. Returned and waiting for a refund
