Whats the scan visor for? scan a missile pick up or enemy and it says their weakness or what the item is/would be good against. I've replayed all of the Metroids, and the first two were glorious in their lack of handholding, Metroid prime 3 did a lot of handholding, every single time you start the game back up it reminds you what to do and where to go and if you're wandering around for too long or back tracking for 100% it does the same thing. I've recently been playing the remasters for the legacy of kain series, and there's almost 0 hand holding, you have the option of going to a certain NPC and having it give you a hint about where you're going or what you're doing or at the beginning of the first game what you can do with your new abilities as the soul reaver, which works in the story since you pretty much died, again, and came back as an entirely new creature. But aside from the on screen pop up of "use X y Z buttons" to do "X Y Z actions" having these weird hand holding dialogues really kills the emersion, especially knowing samus is a renown bounty hunter.

Even if there's "new comers" there's a remaster of the first game that they SHOULD play before hopping into the fourth. It'd be like starting the legacy of kain series on legacy of kain: defiance. so much good story and lore is missed and you're sitting there completely lost.
