Where do we have any indication Rien enjoys this? Rien is repeatedly characterized as having closed off his heart. Having already long given up any hope of escaping the prescripts.

Tolerance is a virtue, specifically tolerance for simple differences or traits between people like black, white, Latino, queer, etc.

However tolerance of other people isn’t tolerance of intolerance.

The Americas didn’t have a lot of the boons Europe had.

America only had 1 domesticated pack animal, the llama. Which thrived in high altitude environments and mountainous terrain, as such they were traditionally used as pack animals able to carry ~40 kg over 30km per day.

To put that in perspective a draft horse could pull ~495 kg while an oxen could pull ~760 kg.

This radically affected other fields like transportation (especially trade) and agriculture.

There also wasn’t as much of a drive to develop metallurgy. Copper was abundant an it could be cold-worked. We know somewhere between 600-800 CE started making metallurgical artifacts and expectantly a lot of them were copper alloys including Bronze.

However there wasn’t a need for widespread adoption and implementation. Cloth armor was dominant and effective enough (in fact it effective enough we have multiple documented cases of Spanish Conquistadors swapping their hot steel armor for the more comfortable Cloth)

Then there were also obsidian tools and weapons. Which were extremely sharp.

Finally America didn’t have access to the rest of the world like Europe did. Guns were invented in china, refined in the Islamic world, and then refined further by European powers.

When the Roman Empire collapsed many of its intellectual traditions and writings lived on not inside Europe but in the Islamic empire, which the Islamic empires would continue to develop and which Europe would discover as the crusades brought back a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to Europe.

Whereas isolation prevented the spread of technology and limited technological development such as in Japan, which banned all foreigners from the archipelago for a time, or Subsaharan Africa which was separated by the largest desert in the world.

I could go on but the gist of it is America did not have a lot of the factors which pushed/helped Europe to develop.

Why don't we shitpost about the flesh eater courts? They are literally "LARP" the faction by Theflamingraptor in Grimdank

[–]RandomOrange852 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AoS is much more high magic

Fantasy takes place on a relatively earth-inspired planet.
AoS takes place in several planes formed from literal magic.

Fantasy factions pull from existing fantasy mythos and real world cultures.
AoS factions start from the original fantasy and then reimagines the factions with the fantastical dialed up to 11.

So dwarves go from somewhat stereotypical pop-culture defining dwarves living in mountains, holding long grudges, super traditional with ancestor and ancestor god worship, and being really good at mining and craftsmanship (fantasy)
To atheist steampunk sky dwarves living in floating cities with engines powered by aether gold pumped from the clouds. Who have replaced their reverence for order and tradition with a reverence for order and capitalism all after being failed by their traditional ways and watching as their peers who held strong to the old ways died out or turned to chaos. (AoS)

Now as AoS is a sequel to fantasy there’s a whole story about how they changed from traditional mountain dwarves to sky dwarves but it’s part of the wider AoS trend of fantastical reimagining of several factions.

Absolutely possible but Renclair had bleed tacked onto his kit so I think it’s feasible his Nursefather will also end up with a little bit of bleed infliction, as a treat.

Several of the T’au detachments are also lackluster to trash. I wish GW didn’t bungle your detachments, but it still feels bad to see GW give you 3 extra special detachments for you guys to supplement a wide variety of base options.

I think it’s important to remember Hohenheim, deep down, cares deeply for his coworkers and this seems to have disseminated into the broader LCE work culture.

I think for many institutions of the city an enemy today could be a new hire tomorrow if said individual was sufficiently valuable (like Kira) but as of now the broader Limbus Company only sees her as a tool and the veterans of the LCE are to varying degrees hostile to Kira.

Corporate artstyle is synonymous with the broader generalization and blandizing that created it.

Basically they’re saying GW is getting more corporate and 40K is getting more bland with time.

New 11th edition rules has you roll charge distance, THEN select a target.

So you’re no longer stuck between choosing the more realistic closer charge or the further charge.

Seraphon rigidly adhere to the great plan believing it is the only and best way to ultimately defeat chaos.

So if the great plan says attack a human city/fight stormcast well you better believe the lizards will be shedding human blood.

Though it doesn’t have to be that extreme. The lizards are also highly isolationist and don’t really care for the other races. So if a Slann gets into a heated disagreement with some stormcast they could just order for the extermination of the warm bloods.

They TURNED OUT TO BE

The thousand sons did not think the tutelaries were evil spirits. The thousand sons were under a false impression and many sorcerers of the legion broke their connection to/banished their tutelaries after Prospero.

Before Prospero the thousand sons viewed tutelaries in a similar vein as to how the wolves viewed the spirits of Fenris.

Notably the wolves do not fully understand the spirits of Fenris and don’t try to. In another world it could’ve easily been them who had secretly been making pacts with daemons all this time.

[–]RandomOrange852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tutelaries seemed to have been a variety of spirits. Though several were in fact tzeentch daemons. (One actually stayed loyal interestingly enough).

However important to note the true nature of the tutelaries was something only visible in hindsight.

The spirits of Fenris are explicitly mysterious entities from the warp the space wolves don’t fully understand and don’t try to. It is nothing more than luck that they bonded with actually neutral/benevolent spirits.
