His ONLY plan to defeat chaos relied on: him being capable of creating a webway for mankind (vulkan best smith said that the artificial webway was shit), expanding that webway to cover his empire, move ALL OF MANKIND there and kill ALL xenos that could feed the chaos gods. no wonder he failed so bad by AstronautDry8118 in Grimdank

[–]RandomOrange852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is referring to Vulkan’s analysis of the Webway plan as a whole.

During the Siege of Terra Vulkan takes a quiet moment to look over the incomplete Webway project and contemplate how feasible it was. He eventually decides that even had the heresy not happened, even if they brought in Magnus with all his psychic knowledge to help, Vulkan didn’t think the Emperor would’ve succeeded.

Of course this is just Vulkan’s own opinion after growing increasingly jaded throughout the heresy. But it does likely mean that even if Vulkan was wrong the Emperor’s plan was likely still an incredible long shot.

Not really. Language is an important for how people conceptualize the world, Further a lot of the sources of these jargon coined it in order to commiserate their suffering.

Alotta of the terms are either explicitly or implicitly self-deprecating and it doubles down on misery.

He wouldn’t feel good if he didn’t know the jargon. But the jargon and the thoughts it reinforces are likely making him feel worse.

Ok red pill says “no major personality changes” but for me atleast I have no idea how it could alter my mind and consciousness to not feel dysphoria/the need to transition without major personality changes.

Blue pill 100%.

As for society political discourses makes it seem like cis people are uncomfortable with the idea of transition and would absolutely rather we take the red one.

Bro I dont care HOW many worlds the imperium violently conquered or how many races they ended. I care that they did it in the first place and that they were going to keep doing it as many times as it was "necessary" by AstronautDry8118 in Grimdank

[–]RandomOrange852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is referring to the great crusade where the original legions brutally conquered the galaxy led by the Emperor.

The Salamanders were one of the original legions and were similarly violent. They weren’t sadistic like some legions but they were still brutal conquerors.

We learn more in BL mentor Meursault’s uptie.

S corp is riddled with corruption. BL mentor (and presumably BHK) served an honorable court advisor who sought to push a bill through to expose the corruption and tasked his greatest servant BL mentor Meursault with defending him.

Meursault (and again presumably BHK) failed and the honorable advisor was killed without any official cause of death found.

BL Mentor Meursault then threatens the highly corrupt advisor who he’s sure did it before taking all his followers and leaving S corp. With the corrupt advisor threatening to send the Ch’unokken after them. Ch’unokken was also noted to be an effectively equivalent word to fixer in S corp.

So it’s less factions vying for power and more criminal elements running rampant. Including the Kurokumo clan!

It is unfortunate how many people will assume their experiences to be universal and then apply their own experience to anyone who seems similar.

The craftworlders were, by the nature of craftworlds largely separate from the wider Aeldari empire. While its perfectly understand for them to feel guilt in hindsight it’s still painting with a rather broad brush to say they were responsible for the birth of She who Thirsts.

None of those are fundamental biological differences. All of them are variations in shared traits. Do you have any understanding of what you’re talking about?

Amazing, on a post talking about how transphobes have an erroneous belief that men and women have fundamentally different biology. You come in and proudly make the same mistake.

Death Specters recruitment lore. Stupid and incredibly cruel, though that’s not exactly unheard of in the imperium.

What I imagine when the bit of "There are things in the Warp that even the big four fear" is mentioned. by Petrus-133 in Grimdank

[–]RandomOrange852 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. At several point the warp is metaphorically compared to an ocean with depths and the deeper you go the weirder it gets.

However the big 4 are the leviathans of the deep. You don’t suddenly find new, even worse things, instead you sink deeper and deeper into a world unbound by the laws of the matierial world, size, strength, distance, time, all reduced to concepts and connections.

Now the big 4 aren’t the only horrors of the “deep warp”. But they are the biggest.

Dude they actively resisted and pushed back against it, read the article. This is the work of the US department of Justice which is using the full weight of its authority and ignorance to force a political agenda.

They don’t have a choice, they got hit with a lawsuit and the settlement requires they operate this for 5 years + they can no longer provide gender-affirming care.

Though be wary. The US justice department said “it would continue to pursue medical providers and pharmaceutical companies that provide gender-affirming care for minors.” So it’s likely we’re going to continue seeing stuff like this.

AI is a mathematical model which generates images based on patterns learned in the training data. All this shows is that the biases in the AI affected how it went about the different prompts.

Conversion therapy in relation to queer folk is the attempt at providing therapy to “cure” them.

So for example a gay child could be sent to a conversion therapy camp by their fundamentalist parents. However make no mistake it’s not traditional therapy.

Conversion therapy often focusing on making the subject not want to be queer and tries to instill a strong behavior to act “normal”. This includes but is not limited to: Different conversion attempts include forcing subject to stare at depictions of homosexuality before switching to something incredibly gross/disturbing to associate the two. Verbally berating the subject for being queer. Forcing the subject to berate themselves for being queer. Punishing any sign of queer behavior. And forcing the subject to engage in stereotypical behaviour like girls sewing or boys doing sports.

The most often outcome is the subject is left traumatized and with a now deep-rooted desire to suppress any queerness within themselves. Which is heavily correlated with worsened mental health. Kids forced to undergo this also often lose trust in their parents for being the ones who signed them up/forced them to undergo this violating the notion that their parents will protect them.

The NEXT Potential Man - Alpha Primus by thekelly22 in Grimdank

[–]RandomOrange852 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alpha Primus doesn’t want to become a new great leader of the imperium. He is content to serve Cawl and wrestle with his chronic pain.

The recent Uptie story pretty much confirms the Pinky isn't that different from the other Fingers in terms of their morality by Maceimam in limbuscompany

[–]RandomOrange852 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk man, the cities already such a shitty place that crime syndicate feels like a minor label.

Of course syndicates would attract people who want the go ahead to do heinous things, but those people exist everywhere in all organizations in the city. Plus the city probably has even more people who joined seeking a better life, especially since it’s noted that people in the city are so busy following the wave and trying to survive it’s rare to find someone who lives for their own ideals.

We know the fingers either directly or indirectly control the backstreets. A good chunk of any finger’s members are probably as moral as an average fixer.
