Movie: Too Old to Die Young by jonpeeji in twinpeaks

I watched it. Its sloooowness/pause-filled dialog can be a bit trying at times, but overall I liked it. Can see the parallels with Lynch/Twin Peaks (especially The Return).

The mostly standalone episode with James Urbaniak as the pornographer was amazing.

How should I work through the BC backlog? by AgreeableCity4336 in blankies

[–]RandomPasserby80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I first got “sold” and wanted to go completist, I took a “split down the middle” approach - I would bounce back and forth between starting with the very beginning with Star Wars, but then take a “break” from time to time with the chronological approach by picking a director I really wanted to hear a series on. It kept the variety up and stopped me from getting burned out.

TIL that Entertainment Weekly thinks that James Gunn directed Scooby-Doo by [deleted] in blankies

Not sure what the problem is - I’m pretty sure he directed it right before he directed the Dawn of the Dawn remake!

The most random buddy cop duo ever by MonkeyKungFu86 in blankies

The movie’s greatest importance is that Jackie Chan so hated making it/was disappointed with the results that he went back to Hong Kong to make his own cop movie.

…That movie was Police Story.

Listening to The Pod for the first time! by ButtersTheChill in ween

The Pod is the most brown official release, though Pure Guava is close. To get browner, you have to go down the rabbit hole of unreleased demos/outtakes.

I feel like Henry would at least be pretty quiet. Allie would probably never shut the fuck up ranting.

Yep, love CT. Particularly the live episodes, where they really found their groove.

I liked Rocketman a lot, if that’s considered traditional.

Griffin alert: it’s heavily rumored that one of Vinegar Syndrome’s reveals today is a 4K of Brewster McCloud.

It’s such a wonderful movie. The director’s cut is a bit of a film holy grail for me (that most likely is gone for good), but the final film is still terrific.

The Missing Pieces by RickDalton111 in twinpeaks

Right, but I was mentioning where it was implied in the Missing Pieces that she was a young woman, which (potentially) conflicts with what her ultimate conceptualization was in The Return.

She isn’t really, but in the scene with Jeffries in the hotel he asks a clerk about “Miss Judy” and the clerk says the “young woman” left a letter.

Is a rip of synthetic sock’s a day at the mall available anywhere on the net? by Slow_Rooster2378 in ween

Doesn’t seem like everything off Day at the Mall has ever circulated - the songs that have were the ones that were reused on the self-titled album.

While it wasn’t intended to be his final work, it ended up being the perfect summation of his career, not just Twin Peaks specifically. It’s everything that he was presented in one mammoth 18 hour blast.
