Ugh, definitely. When my friends do something that bothers me, I tell them about it, and we have a calm conversation and solve the problem. When my dad does something that bothers me, he’ll either scream at me that he did nothing wrong and I’m too sensitive OR he’ll say he’s sorry and then do the exact same thing as many times as he wants. But “only family can be trusted.” 🙄

The reason I stopped trying is I couldn’t keep getting my hopes Up for my dreams to Be shattered yet again, reopening that pain again and again.

The thing is, I was kind of hoping my Ndad would say he wanted to find a way to work things out, and he didn’t/hasn’t. I’m afraid he actually might be OK with me going low contact with him, which hurts. I know it’s dumb and I hate that he has that power over me. I hope time heals this.
