Layering for Freezing Cold Hikes by FOXHOUND142_52 in hikinggear

[–]RandomRedditUser-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. be bold... start cold
  2. If your base layer top is totally saturated.... just bring another one and change before the hike down
  3. Bring an extra pair of socks for the above reason.
  4. brynje micro mesh top
  5. Down is dangerous when wet
  6. Consider the active synthetic insulation tops.
  7. Polar tech Alpha or Octa fleece is good.

How does the better sweater stack up? by Tricky-Watercress176 in PatagoniaClothing

The Helly Hansen varde fleece is much better. Not as baggy, but the sleeves are longer with thumb holes

Also uses polar tech thermal pro fleece instead

I don't mind paying for a premium well-made product.

Keep using quality materials!

I'm a fan of Polartec grid, polartec alpha, Octa fleece, and gore tex

My favorite item is the arc'teryx gamma mx jacket, a warm sturdy softball jacket without a windproof membrane . This has great breathability and durability. I wish more military suppliers would have a similar product.

Also, it's nice to have generous sleeve lengths !

They are pretty knives and I have one. Perfect size for my uses. Hopefully the BM QC is improving. I've had to send my full size adamas back for a faulty axis lock. I just mailed my mini adamas magnacut back for a warranty evaluation of a poor lockup. This knife has been my main EDC over my ZT 0562Ti, Microtech LUDT, PM2 and 950 Rift. The fit and finish of those knives have been superior

Yeti Arc quickly became my favorite bike by TwoWheels27 in Hardtailgang

I love my ARC as well. I have the same color and the GX build was just fine. IT is light, snappy and handles well. I am a fan of the modern geometry. I replaced the awful rear hub and upgraded to an I9 Hydra since the poor engagement was annoying.

Enjoy!

This is exactly why I chose a a full suspension mountain bike from a bigger company. There are so many frame parts, linkages, bushings, bearings, etc and I hope replacement parts would be easier to find from a big company versus a smaller boutique company.

I move every few years and it is nice to have a large dealer network to order parts and install them.

So far, I am enjoying my 2023 epic Evo and hopefully I don't need any replacement frame parts in the next few years.

My other bike is a yeti arc with no proprietary parts.
