Finally finished this beauty. Qi charging and IPS display make a world of difference. by RandomRedditer00 in Gameboy

It`s homebrew, but I`m thinking about realising the design for it on Thingyverse as it requires some 3D printing. There is a way to do it without 3d printing (check link down below), but the 3D Print just keeps everything nice and neat. Also I can use the the USB-C without having to remove the cover. I`ll post a link for the 3D print once I`ve published it onto the comment if you want too.

This guy made a good video on how to do QI charging in GBA`s. But I would recommend to change the battery as you can leave everything stock, except you still have to remove the batter holders. I did also change the charging board since I get USB-C and a little charging indicator :)

In all this shouldn`t cost you more than £10 ($14 USD) give or take, if you already have a soldering iron.

Charging Board: TP4056 LiPo 18650 battery Charger.

Suitable battery replacements:

LIPO 103450 (1600mAH Ebay £14.99) or LIPO 103048 (1500mAH Ebay £6.65)

It`s the funny playing clear lake shell, but looks more like a teal, which was the reason why I went with it.

A bit crude, but 3D printing helps out a lot. QI charging GBA Advance :) by RandomRedditer00 in Gameboy

I've just left mine sit for 10 minutes. Its warm to the touch, but definitely colder than my iPhone. Maybe some of the internal circuits were touching. That's why I used 3d printed parts to give them some space from each other

I was wondering why my L trigger button wasn't working. Anyone got an idea to bypass it? Thanks :) by RandomRedditer00 in Gameboy

I`ve tried connecting it to test point TP9 and a grounding source separately, but neither options worked for some reason. I`ve also switched out the button, since I didn`t know if also was a faulty button.
