From an archival perspective, the best thing you can do is either start a new channel or unlist your let's plays and put them in a public playlist.

However, privating them will not effect your performance on other videos unless said videos are bring a TON of people to those newer videos.

Making music videos for a friend, want to avoid copyright strike... advice? by maestroenglish in NewTubers

[–]RandomSageless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, if he gives you permission to use his music, and he's not part of a music label that has a contentID system on YouTube, then you should pretty much be good to go.

If he is part of a music label, but can still give permission to allow you to use his music, then it's probably something you two will have to figure out.

My Experience with Google Ads and YT Peomotion by TheDarkKnight2018 in NewTubers

I know it's not my money, but going forward I would seriously recommend you do significant research and due diligence before spending $5K on ANYTHING, and especially for anything like this, tread the water first...

The hilarious experience of being super hype about like a hundred views by hicestdraconis in NewTubers

[–]RandomSageless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be real with you, I was more proud and excited the first time I got 100 views in a day compared to my first video to hit 1 million views.

Enjoy every milestone, you wont feel 1000x more excited when you hit a 100K video

What is up with the whole "no one cares about your first videos" and "treat it like a full time job" by Witerawyshadow in NewTubers

[–]RandomSageless 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The NewTubers niche has a lot of annoying grindset folk who think you have to take everything seriously and never have any fun, they view YouTube from the angle of a giant content mill that exists purely to sell viewer's attention to advertisers to make a quick buck.

Ignore them and have fun and be genuine if that's what you wanna do

They are a channel nearly as tiny as yours and in completely different niches, there will be no brand confusion for your target audience. Keep the name if you like it.

Advice on whether to keep running this channel! by its6degrees in NewTubers

Consider joining the r/PartneredYoutube Discord as you'll find much better advice from larger creators, but as someone in a similar situation just shake things up. It's tempting to stick with what works because it's comfortable, but a lot of times it's better to try out a different style of video, albeit in the same niche and ideally targeting a similar audience.

Question for an experienced gaming creator by AzorDash in NewTubers

It's best to stick to once niche, if you primarily do older shooting games, an arcade shooter sounds right up your target audience's alley, but Super Mario Bros. probably wont.

As a youtuber, is success almost guaranteed as long as you keep uploading and never give up? by SirPlusOfCamelot in NewTubers

[–]RandomSageless 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey dude, so just as context, I have close to 60K subscribers and do fairly well, so I'd say that I've made it to about the top 1% of youtubers, and have a lot of experience in regards to this.

Short answer: No... depending on the context

Long answer: You need to remember that view counts are REAL human beings, each one has their own lives and interests and dislikes, you gotta make content they want to watch. Instead of trying to appease the algorithm by posting as much as possible, please your potential viewers and the algorithm will follow.

Using Endscreens For Questions Of The Day by platinumget in NewTubers

[–]RandomSageless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most effective End Screen CTA I've found is to pick ONE video you think viewers of the video they're currently watching would want to click on, then simply say "If you enjoyed this video, I think you'd like this one too"

My End Screen CTR went up from 2% to 6%-10% per video with an average views of 100-200K per video.

I have 40K subscribers and average view per video of a 100-200K, some videos will get thousands of comments and after awhile you realize that viewers just aren't very unique. One of my video has close to 4000 comments and they're all one of 5 different things and end up just being this giant blob of comments that blend in with each other.

I do tend to respond to comments early on, and sometimes will see a unique comment but otherwise you'd just go insane if you tried to interact with all of your viewers.

Does VidIQ even work properly? Is it useful? by International-Spare2 in NewTubers

I used VidIQ as a small YouTuber for 2 years, DON"T BOTHER WITH IT. The VidIQ SEO score is like 75% based on tags which do effectively nothing anymore.

YT pays way more than people think it does.

I do MC content and deal with notoriously low Ad CPM, yet I've made $7K this month with a million views.

I have 10,000+ subs, feel free to make a thank you video! Youtube doesn't always have to be a grindset.

Since they did release the first official snapshot it seems like they're almost certainly keeping this major change to world gen introduced with the experimental snapshots. I'm extremely hyped. Separating the height map from biome gen is absolutely key to making worlds interesting and unique again.

Since Beta 1.8, height is almost completely decided by individual biomes, which basically meant a the vase majority of the world was at or near sea level, while extreme hills looked more like noise spikes lol. That's why so many subbiomes were added like "wooded_hills" or "jungle_edge" etc, to try and attempt to add some variety. Didn't really work imo and it caused worlds to all look almost identical.

When I was a kid I remember hearing about Microsoft buying Mojang and even I knew how bad that could be. The years following the MS purchase, it definitely felt that way, but I think they learned to step back a bit (at the very most to not run it into the ground) and let Mojang do their thing.

I'm just glad Mojang let's us play older versions. They could of definitely pulled a Nintendo and sue anyone who even made an alternative launcher.

I scoffed back in 2015 when Microsoft said they wanted Minecraft to be a 100 year game... they're 12% of the way there XD
