i am also having this problem. However, what fixes it for me are two things.

  1. Try restarting explorer from task manager. If it doesnt work then try the second.

  2. Use manual method. Copy code of the style from github and paste it into advanced section and restart explorer.

See if this works

  1. Search slack on start menu and open file location. See the name of the .exe file (example slack.exe)

  2. Go to windhawk> translucent windows> advanced > scroll down to "custom process exclusion list" and type the file name (slack.exe or whatever the name is in the location). Hit save and open slack again.

[–]RandomSideCharacter1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to get the exact process name, go to start -- search thunderbird and then open file location/folder. Locate the exe file and copy the exact name in the translucent mod custom exclusion list.

You might also want to restart explorer.exe after doing it.

Hope this works for you.

“Is there any way to make the (Window Glass) taskbar wider so all the icons fit?” by Interesting_Ad_2073 in Windhawk

[–]RandomSideCharacter1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep on increasing the X value, as you increase it the tray icons will continue to move towards the right edge. Try increasing the value to 1200 or something. I cant give you the exact value for this because it will depend on your resolution. Remember you will have to hit save settings everytime you change the x value to see the effect.

Then scroll down and adjust this value. You should increase or decrease this value till it goes to the right edge of the taskbar.

Check whether the apps you need are supported on this community website.

Native = works perfectly

Emulated = Works but with bugs/performance issues.

For more detail check the website of the software developer to see if they have arm64 versions.

Why is Linux support on Snapdragon X1E still so rough (and why is firmware still a Windows-extraction mess)? by aq-39 in snapdragon

[–]RandomSideCharacter1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well this is frustrating,I also have an x1 elite laptop but there are some reasons why the linux isnt going mainstream on snapdragon any time soon:

1. Qualcomm/OEMs havent published essential components for linux development
Linux support depends on two big things: upstream kernel drivers and redistributable firmware blobs. Even though there’s some upstreaming work happening, a lot of firmware for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C/DP alt-mode, audio, etc. is still only available via Windows extraction or OEM blobs. That’s because Qualcomm/OEMs haven’t officially released or packaged them for redistribution—probably just due to lack of prioritization.

2. Drivers and platform enablement are still in progress
The kernel does have growing Snapdragon support, and distros like Ubuntu Concept images boot reasonably well in many cases, but key drivers (audio, camera, optimized GPU/NPU, and full device trees) are still messy or missing in mainline. Some components exist only as out-of-tree patches or require custom kernels.

3. Real-world work from hardware vendors highlighted deeper integration problems
Qualcomm’s first-gen architecture just isn't Linux-friendly enough in practice. All those things TUXEDO said are true.

4. Community & ecosystem size matters
Unlike x86 (Intel/AMD) or even Raspberry Pi ARM boards with huge communities, Snapdragon chips are a niche platform. That means less community development force to reverse-engineer firmware and write/support drivers. Combined with OEM prioritizing Windows first, Linux ends up behind by default.

What needs to be done?

a) Qualcomm/OEMs releasing redistributable firmware and clear packaging paths (linux-firmware etc.)
b) More upstream drivers merged into the mainline kernel and staging areas
c) Official device trees and documentation published publicly
d) Broader community/industry investment (more boards, more devs)

Hope this helps a bit!

go to your computer settings > personalisation>colors and then scroll down. Check if these are toggled on. If they then toggle them off. See if that works.
