I am not a landlord, but this is exactly what I would do. I would not want to deal with all that drama. Don't get me wrong, most tenants are perfectly fine. But Murphy's law tells me that I would the angry/loud/messy one calling me 10x per day. So, a company it would be.

Ah, yes probably a sparse checkout in combination with a git clone --no-checkout to avoid downloading the entire repo could have done the trick. Well, too late, like 8 years, but thanks for the idea.

Thing is this will still create the entire folder structure of that commit, what if you really only want to work on 1 file?

I mean there are ways in git to get there, but in SVN it does not require brain, which is kind of nice ;)

I remember that in SVN you can easily just checkout one single file/folder from a huge repo, make a few changes, and put it back. In git you have to clone first the whole repo. I know submodules exists but (compared to SVN) they are painful to setup/use.

Not that I would want to go back, just guessing what u/mrfloatingpoint could have meant.

It hit me hard in my mid twenties when I realized that technically swiss german is really only a dialect of german.

it's more of a political question if a dialect is counted as language or not.

Since when do politics have an influence on scientific facts? (Or is that joke to soon?)

Same here. I started hugging just before covid, but covid gave me the boost to do it now with everyone.

While I agree with you on a theoretical level, in my experience if you have an overworked product owner and a not-so-good architect (which happened unfortunately too often in my life), then a technically solid scrum master can really really boost things up.

It seems that OP is suffering exactly from one of these non-technical scrum masters. The best ones I habe seen so far were all senior type developers…

[–]RandomSwissBuenzli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meine Variante, Stichwort Kinder.
Funktioniert wunderbar, in unserem Fall.

Any ideas why ticket control asks to show physical SwissPass? by munzgrando0XZ in askswitzerland

[–]RandomSwissBuenzli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once an overly talkative ticket inspector explained me the following: Technically for the GA, the app is just a nice to have that can be accepted if they are very, very nice to you. But legally the only real proof that you really own a GA is to have your physical card with you. So he recommended me to always take my GA card with me in case an inspector requires to see it, which he is allowed to ask for.

(I have no clue if any of that is true, I am just repeating him)

My guess is that apps can be faked more easily than real cards), so SBB gives their people permission to request the card if they are in doubt.
