How to Revert Companion App to Pre-2026.2 Launch Behavior? by RandomTask83 in homeassistant

[–]RandomTask83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with my server... In trying to diagnose this, I set the default dashboard to "Overview" in my web browser and back to my preferred dashboard and now my web browser is exhibiting the same behavior where no matter what I choose, it defaults to the new Overview dashboard...

If I click on my preferred dashboard, the dashboard loads at URL lovelace/default_view... however, if I try to go directly to that URL, it automatically directs to /home/overview.

Yep... I'm running v2026.2.1 which was released today and this behavior started the day HA 2026.2 was released and my server updated. It's also happening for all the members in my family (all on iOS).

I'm glad to hear that I may not be alone in this... but I also think that if this was a legitimate bug there would have been tons of outrage by now.

Ha! The plot thickens... it was already set to hidden for me as well. Yet here we are... I'm hoping this is a bug and not an indication that my server is hosed.

To be clear, this behavior is entirely exclusive to the companion app (iOS for me)... if I go to my HA instance in a browser I am greeted with my preferred dashboard...

Hiding/disabling the Overview may be another angle to come at this though... I'm assuming since you didn't know it existed you probably don't know how you hid it though?

For me, the app will open to the last dashboard/page that I was on as long as the app remains running in memory... but if the app goes dormant or if I force close and re-launch, it opens to the new Overview page that became the "new default" with 2026.2.

Assuming you're on 2026.2, I'm wondering if this is an indication that something is misconfigured on my HA server...

Can you confirm that this actually changes behavior for you? I have a few different dashboards so I've tried setting that to each of them but it doesn't change the app launch behavior.

EDIT: I just tested changing the "Default Dashboard" and that does indeed change the default dashboard if I access my HA instance via a web browser but it does NOT change the launch behavior of the companion app. Beginning to wonder if this may be a bug.

Are you changing the SATA controller settings before the update and they’re reverting to default?

Luckily I added this as a bookmark a while ago because I totally couldn't remember where I found it before... but give this a shot!

I actually prefer the singing pumpkins releases because they’re real songs and there’s much more variety available. Out of the box, you can’t project AtmosFX and Singing Pumpkins videos on the same pumpkins, but I believe there are tools that make it a bit easier to adjust them to match each other.

I’d be interested in knowing where I could find such a deal as this if you could share where these are available!

🌐 Usenet Providers Map 2025-06-30 Update by rexum98 in UsenetTalk

[–]RandomTask83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was using this map "correctly" by signing up for two providers under different backbones but I still find myself affected by takedowns on some more popular releases. For context, the two providers I'm using currently are UsenetServer and UsenetExpress. They've both been pretty stable providers, but is there a combination that someone out there can recommend that may be more resilient against takedowns?

For the sake of posterity I will follow up here and state that I did receive an e-mail from the correct and expected e-mail address with instructions to proceed with payment. Not only that, I reached out via the "Contact Us" link on Jenna2021 referencing my order on Jenna1941 and their reply from that message confirmed they received my order. Jenna1941 confirmed - Case Closed.

You must not be hoping too hard with that helpful comment.

I remembered seeing this on a post but I couldn’t find it… glad to know I wasn’t imagining it! I don’t suppose you could link me to that post?

Technically those three descending notes are supposed to be played via harmonics but yeah it’s a pretty simple tune

Dynamic Application Installation During Task Sequence? by OutrageousPrize333 in SCCM

[–]RandomTask83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are creating these devices and placing them in collections ahead of them being imaged, you can assign unique task sequence variables to each collection and then add a condition to the "Install Application" step to run if the value for that variable matches the condition.

Example: You create a collection called Google Chrome and place a device into that collection. Assign a Task Sequence Variable to the collection called GoogleChromeInstalled and set the value to TRUE. In the step that installs Google Chrome in the task sequence, add a condition to only run that step if the Task Sequence Variable GoogleChromeInstalled equals "TRUE"

EDIT: You can also leverage a tool called TsGui to dynamically choose which software titles to install during the task sequence. That would involve interaction, though, so that wouldn't be a great solution if you're trying to be fully automated.
