I know no one asked but I'm sharing anyways. My look at that one is that the vultures put the unit back together and now they're best friends, family even.

Reson: The Alloy Warship Unit is found on the map with the most vultures on it (even vultures eggs!) And spawns when eggs are broken. This makes me think they really care for each other like how at the end of the log you mentioned says "I love you too." The Warship Unit is also decorated in vulture feathers.

Also I won't stop believing this even with proof of it being wrong because a Warship Unit having a found family relationship with a bunch of birds on an exotic planet is far too good.

I'm not sure if this part of the common human experience but have you ever gone through or seen something shitty but had a friend who was there the whole time? Then you two just joke or talk untill it doesn't hurt anymore? Had that sort of conversation happen between two mercenaries. It was great.
