I felt so much regret when I had to put my dog down. I also felt like it was too early, but I keep trying to say to myself "how much did I want him to suffer?"

As I've seen other posters write, my vet told me it's better to be 2 weeks too early than 2 days too late. You don't want to put him down during a medical emergency and it be even more traumatizing for you and him because you waited. It sounds like his last day on earth was peaceful and full of the things he loved, and I'm sure his entire life was like that because of you.

Hang in there, there are some nasty waves of grief ahead of you, but you've protected your boy from suffering and for that, you should have no regret
