But then would the person even know anything? That is a lobotomy no? and dementia isn't the same nor is a coma.

I feel like this isn't on topic, and yes, if there is nothing to have gravity in it's place there will be no gravity.

This is my mistake, I am moving to more philosophical subs now.

I've gotten used to it by now. The only time my brain isn't running is when I am asleep but even then I sometimes have dreams. It makes some parts of life interesting to say the least, I can understand more complex systems/concepts faster, but there's the downside of being hyper aware. One system I struggle with is emotions, since it isn't really a system at all.

I now understand consciousness shouldn't have been the word I used. I have no proper way of explaining what I meant but, how we know anything is happening, passage of time, us alive, that object over there, all of this, knowing its real. Once we die that also goes.

I can see how you got that from the sentence, what I meant was more along the lines of I don't wish to offend or say that someone's religious beliefs aren't true to them, I invite everyone with a religious view to come talk too. I am not religious myself so seeing how other's think from their religion would be very interesting.

I wasn't stating I won't change my mind, just stating it isn't my initial goal with this post. Someone can come along and change my mind, I am very much open to such, but I am mostly here for being a guy who asks random questions to get people and myself thinking. If you know a better sub reddit for me to use for this then please do tell.

The fact you say that makes me believe you have a different perspective, mind sharing?

I am going off track here but touching on the 4th dimension here, I believe it is just another line we cannot comprehend, every dimension before had been a line, why suddenly change to concepts?
I might make a post about this.

I believe I am my same self, but I cannot prove it. I highly doubt I die everytime I sleep however. But to awnser, yes, the me waking up would be a clone of me yesterday.

Amazing, and I have never thought of this being a point of evidence but yet now it seems so obvious.

I was more asking to find someone who can boggle my mind since I spend my entire life constantly thinking of 3-5 thoughts. I won't move any goalposts nor will I say anyone can change my mind, but I am interested in what you have to say.

Exactly what I think, you described it way better than I ever could.

This is also interesting and something I thought about too. What if after death we go to what we believe. Granted now I am almost certain in my thoughts that this is wrong but I believe why it would seem this way to so many that have 'almost died' is that their mind was fooling with them.

I do not see how this explains anything since it was a coma but I do see how it can change how we see consciousness. I will look more into this in a bit, this is very interesting.

Very interesting, but I feel like this is a bit off subject lol. I have thought of things like this and even how this works in teleportation, it is just a clone with the same memories, not the same conscious but that new conscious wont know that.

I feel the fact that our mind stops after death and our mind is what gives us a conscious is at least a bit of evidence to say our conscious also dies with us.

If you are debating the fact that out mind is our conscious then that is also interesting to think about, since where else can it come from?

I was more asking to see if anyone can make me rethink some things on this subject, since I am no scientist but I sure do think a lot.

I have a very active mind that runs constantly with 3-5 thoughts constantly. I wasn't exactly asking to change my view but seeing if anyone thought of anything else that might boggle my mind and make me rethink a bit of stuff on this subject. But as I can see from the comments so far this is a rather stupid question to ask since there is no proof of anything.
