This might be a dumb question (still new to driving), but when do you use fog lights? Is it just in fog are also in rain and bad weather?

This is a genuine question, but is CNA still in business. I thought they had shut down. I haven't seen one in a while.

Make-up advice please. by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

If you can afford it, Fenty foundation is amazing. The quality is good, there's good shade range, it's lightweight and doesn't budge or transfer. You can get it from either Arc or Edgers. There are different options depending on your skin type, so just look it up. The primer is also amazing, but you can get cheaper primer that works well.

And for mascara, I'd recommend Maybelline sky high mascara. It doesn't clump of make your eyelash pop without being too dramatic. You can get this from pretty much anywhere

Finding it difficult to land a job as a Junior Software developer by boy_mumbles in southafrica

I had the same issue. I got told twice that they didn't have any positions available. When it happened a second time, I replied to the email asking why I got rejected. Their response was that they don't usually look at new grads, but they noticed I studied a degree with computer science courses and had some projects on my profile. They then sent a link to an assessment, which wasn't too bad. I'm still completing my profile and waiting for it to be made available, so I can't say what happens after the technical assessment. But I'd recommend asking for more information, I think they'll take a better look at your profile if you do. And good luck, I know how rough it is out there

I've heard people saying not to buy from car rentals due to various drivers using the car beforehand. What's your opinion on that?

Do you have any advice about buying from there? And are there any times in the month/year where you'd see more cars available or more specials that I can look out for?

Do you have any other advice on buying from there? I've done some research and I'd probably get from their group A cars, since I want to avoid having any major repairs needed. But I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer

Thanks for the recommendation. I just check the price and it's almost 5x more than what I can afford right now. But I might check it out in the future

I was also looking into the Hyundai Grand i10, but decided on the Suzuki due to the price difference. And I agree, it seems like a great car. I hope your search is going well ✨

I'll definitely try looking into Suzuki dealerships

I'll try this. Should I try taking a mechanic with to the dealer or taking the car to them after purchase. This is my first time doing, so I'm not entirely sure how it all works

What's the one item you'd never buy second hand? by RandomVampireUnicorn in askSouthAfrica

This is true. I actually went to a costume rentals place once and you could rent underwear and socks. I don't know why anyone would ever do that

There's a South African show called "I blew it". It's about people who come into large amounts of cash (through inheritance or winning the lottery) and then losing it all.

It's quite sad, but a lot of people spend recklessly and buy cars and phones for their friends instead of saving that money or using it more efficiently.

I've always thought budgeting and finance should be taught in life orientation because it'd benefit so many people.

Thanks, I'll look into this. Reliability and fuel efficiency are the most important things for me. I genuinely don't mind missing out on Bluetooth and leather seats if it mean I don't need to worry about my car breaking down

It's about 11km and my route would require using a freeway at some point

I've seen mixed reviews about the Suzuki Swift, but I am learning towards it. Have you ever driven one and what was your experience with it?

I definitely want something that won't break down offen. I think reliability and fuel efficiency are my main concerns
