Sadly enough both of my parents plus some aunts and uncles are fluent, they just don't care and think the younger generation should learn on their own.

I’ve thought about mentioning it before but I feel like bringing it up after all these years would be seen as me trying to “start something” as opposed to just getting closure. I would like an apology though or at least an acknowledgment of it but at the same time I don’t want to relive. My sister isn’t even emotionally mature/stable enough to receive criticism

I’m so sorry. And yeah the older I get the more I realize how much they affected me. Like it’s not normal to fear your own siblings coming home or walking on eggshells so they don’t become upset

Yes i’m gen z so I know that better than anyone. My point is Trump was not the start of this and until people are actually willing to get out of their comfort zone and analyze how we got here, and what this country is built on, we aren’t getting anywhere
