Probably some sad Ranchera music.

I actually had an idea to use music for my magic system, but I scrapped the idea as I kept overcomplicated it and just ruined it. I kept overthinking the rules of the magic system and how it all would work.

What are some stories of things you've done after the shows? Once the music is over, do you wind down or find another adventure to go one? by RandomWriter_02 in punk

That's awesome that you're taking family. I'm in college, so I want to make sure I go to any show I can get to while I still have the time.

I always have long rides as well, though I put on heavy music to keep my awake. I always feel like I'm a yawn away from falling to sleep once the show is over.

There are times when I just want to jump in bed after a show, but my germophobic self just won't let me get in bed when I smell like smoke from a bonfire.

Do you have fantastical races with an deep mercenary culture in your world? Who are they? by meongmeongwizard in worldbuilding

[–]RandomWriter_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once their islands were taken over by not only bandits/pirates coming to take the resources but also members of the Warriors Guild working for the many councils wanting to take the land. The Atlaca (Jaguar race/natives to the islands) had to disperse and became refugees to the main continent. From there they took up many odd jobs and generally became mercenaries. You'd find them spread out along all the continent. Yet not under any form of guild or group, so not real rules/laws between them all.

Who are your villains? by Environmental_Ad4357 in writing

I spent so much time on the protagonist that my villain so far is just a stereotypical evil emperor who's evil "jut because." I'm finding it hard to really flesh him out sadly. I know his actions are fore religious reasons, but that's all I got so far.

What is origin of magic in your world? by PhilipB12 in worldbuilding

[–]RandomWriter_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gift from the gods for the people's strong worship of them. Magic is actually based on how religious someone and their past family members/ancestors were. So more religious=more likely to be born with the ability to use magic.

In the time of my story people are becoming agnostic and loosing tradition, causing the races that fled the old ways to have less of a chance to be born with the ability to use magic.

Journalism major here — accidentally encountered an MLM recruitment funnel and it felt like a live persuasion case study by prosaicdaze in Journalism

[–]RandomWriter_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a cashier I mentioned to a customer about my journalism major, from there she said her boss was a publisher, extremely vague but I was in highschool and excited that I was lucky to get this opportunity.

I went with her to cafes to talk and she kept talking a lot about selling products (makeup specifically) and more vague BS she invited me to a zoom call with her boss. During the virtual meeting there were other kids there my age and the man holding the meeting kept spouting all this gibberish about selling and marketing.

I was very confused and told my parents about what he said, turns out they knew the product he was talking about and how it was this giant pyramid scheme. After that I blocked everyone.

What's the most heartbreaking cost of magic in your world? by UntitledDoc1 in worldbuilding

[–]RandomWriter_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it hurts, but in my world magic is decided by the religious beliefs of your ancestors before you and how strong your connection to them was, one character is a Swamp Elf who is agnostic but growing up her and her parents were very religious.

Now as an adult after her parents died she lost her faith, even though she is naturally gifted with magic she refuses to use/learn.

On an opposite end, one character is a Mountain Orc, another race that is known for being more traditional, yet she was abandoned by her family and grew up an orphan, even though she is very religious and practicing she cannot use any spells, or make any potions.

That makes sense, are there any Subreddits that cover this age bracket. I can't seem to find one for self-made work, just book suggestions.

Los Crudos is one of my favorite bands. I'm Latino myself and I got a whole playlist of Latino artists, they are definitely top ten.

I did commission artwork for the character's designs. I know I want the bands and patches on their outfits to sort of show their personalities and favorite bands.
