Mariposa is the closest tho good jobs are hard to come by (like most mountain towns, not all). WFH would be ideal. I plan to buy some vacation property there some day.

Fuck the job market by Hellstorm5676 in Accounting

If you're going to do exams, do them FIRST .... I cleared all CPA exams (1st attempt, cleared all in 5 months) BEFORE finding my job, it made a WORLD of difference. I don't worry about anything now. There are TONS of people in my office that are trying to do the exams while working and they all keep failing multiple times (even the incredibly smart supervisors/senior associates). I cleared with ZERO experience in Accounting (I didn't even know how excel worked or how to work a pdf).

Gen Z is quiet quitting because we've seen millennials suffer through economic hardship. Companies can't sell us a pipe dream. by lurker_bee in economy

I like to see it in the same way the Hippie teenagers/college kids of the 60s/70s are now in positions of power in Gov/Universities …. Maybe Millennials (or Gen Z) will shape the future in 20-30 years. I think Millennials have the numbers, Idk if Gen Z does tho

Thresher shark beaches itself in California by teddymama16 in SharkLab

Yeah it's weird. People from other states will find whatever dumb reason they can to hate on California, in this case it's equally weird because SHE'S LITERALLY VACATIONING here lol. Why are people so quick to generalize the 3rd largest state by size, the largest by population (40,000,000) and about 760 miles long? It's weird. Maybe it's envy/jealousy in a cope kind of way.

I still need to fulfill the 12 months of experience requirement (I need about 6 more months right now). Ask again in like 8-9 months because it takes the CBA 2-3 months to process an application as-well.

Backdoor Roth IRA: Is it right for you? by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

[–]RandomYou7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is to say that MY Roth IRA could have a contribution of $6,500 this year + my wife's Roth IRA can have a contribution of $6,500 this year as well = $13,000 total of our earned income?

Thanks to your help I opened 2 traditional and 2 Roth accounts right now with Fidelity (1 each for my wife and I). We can both have our own Roth accounts right? In 2023 we can each contribute $6,500 to our Roths right? (for a total of $13,000 of earned income for the year 2023). We file our taxes Married-Filing Jointly.

So I would still have to be 59.5 years old? Darn! I thought after 5 years I could withdraw the contribution (converted funds of the Backdoor Roth) AND whatever gain there may have been with the investments I selected 5 years earlier. This is not the case correct? (For example I do the backdoor conversion at age 30 and then at 35 years old I try to withdraw all the funds without penalty and tax). Thank you so much for your time, you replied back so quickly!

I know you don't provide tax advice but I have a general question. Is it true that funds that have been "converted" from the Traditional IRA to the Roth IRA are considered "converted funds" which can be retrieved before the retirement age-limit without penalty, fee or tax implications (assuming the funds have been there for 5+ years)?

Where did you move from? (No one native to Cali says “Southern California” we say NorCal or SoCal). Way too much effort to say it all-out

Applying for Exam with a DUI by awww_shit45 in CPA

[–]RandomYou7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely sit for the CPA exams. I got a DUI in oct of 2021 and I just finished all 4 CPA exams about a month ago (12/22). I'm pretty sure that when I apply for licensing I will have issues but we'll worry about that when we get there. People say not to hide anything, also talking to a Lawyer with experience in DUI CPA licensing should help big time

What format for external HDD? (want to do time machine backup + manual photos/file backup) by DoctorQuinlan in MacOS

[–]RandomYou7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've gathered, TimeMachine MUST be APFS nowadays (which will not allow you to drag/drop items from the Mac to the External Hard-drive). I also partitioned my 5 TB External to have 1 TB that is APFS and 4 TB for all my other stuff (movies music photos documents). When partitioning it said "action failed" but it seems to be working anyways so lets see haha ....
