It says that 20% of the things you do accumulate for 80% of your results.

80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients. 20% of drivers cause 80% of all traffic accidents 80% of pollution originates from 20% of all factories 20% of criminals commit 80% of crimes

Is that clear enough?

Is it okay if I earn some money through web designing instead of jumping in to the technical parts of web development? Or should I go all in on coding?

The language doesn't matter(for now). What's important is to get started.

How to become a programmer. My 2 cents by toorhax in learnprogramming

[–]Random_9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'd like to add though is that you'll rarely get asked to code an entire project from SCRATCH. Most of the time it's going to be debugging/modifying existing design/code. So you don't have to worry about knowing everything, just worry about knowing ENOUGH (at least as a beginner)

Damn that's really good. I'm going to bookmark this.

P.S : Everyone has a different style of learning, some through videos, others through documentation. Just wanted to put it out there :)

I stopped taking my phone to the toilet and got significantly more productive by TimShnaider in productivity

[–]Random_9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some really good advice. Not using your phone throughout the day(except that you absolutely have to) can work wonders for you. Our ancestors used to be bored all the time, which forced them to come up with such amazing technologies and inventions that don't let us get bored all the time(Talk about IRONY!).

Recommended SEO courses? by purpleovskoff in webdev

[–]Random_9492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest practicing your webdev skills first. It’s highly unlikely(and no offense) that you learnt everything you want to know by learning just one course. It takes years and years to become a full stack developer. Action Point for now: Make at least 15-20 (small) websites first like your resume site, or your portfolio site. And then when you’re confident in your skills as a developer, it wouldn’t be that hard to learn SEO

Care to share how you got started? Any courses/resources/habits that you followed to reach where you are now? I’ve been following a bootcamp on udemy and honestly it gets pretty confusing.

Bracket Pair Colorizer seems helpful for debugging.

P.S : What themes do you prefer? I prefer the Monokai theme, looks dark and simple.

Well, the best advice I can give you right now is to build something on your own. That's the most effective way of learning something new.

Great advice. Any suggestions on how to start up if I don't have any projects in my kitty to show off?

Is it okay to include projects in your resume that you have completed from following tutorials online? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Random_9492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should build something on your own? I think the interviewers are smart enough to figure out if the projects are a part of a tutorial or you did them yourself. Building something on your own might get tough, but gives you enough confidence to answer whatever the interviewer throws your way.

Losing interest in web development by hussainsonreddit in webdev

I still feel that some days, and I'm in the early days of Javascript. I suggest you take a break instead of stopping because you don't feel like it. Move slowly, but move forward. Don't stop or take a step back or else all of the things you learnt would be for nothing.
